It's far less likely he had a gag order, people forget chris went silent for months years at a time, unless people were actively manipulating him to make content. It's perfectly in character for him to be radio silent. Plus he's likely in direct communication with some of his most dedicated white knights, and he has a gal pal.. IRL.

He was offline for three years before someone reached out to him irl and got him to post again.

Recently things are pretty different and he sees value in the internet, mostly because morons will throw money and attention at him. But don't underestimate his ability to just fuck off for months at a time if he so desires.
