Chris just doesn't want to work. One of his IRL friends even offered to help him find a job after he complained about Barb pawning her necklace. He's too comfortable with the $1,300 per month he gets off of Bob's work history, and when things get dire, he can always beg.

Kim insinuates that Chris is a lazy idiot while simultaneously trying to make him feel bad because he will probably be alone forever.
At this point, I really think Kim could just light 14 BC on fire with Barb inside and Chris would be outside with no fucks to give just because she has a vagina.
 
I don't think the problem is that Chris needs a job, we all know no one would EVER employ him for ANYTHING for so many reasons. He gets more than enough money in his tugboat, he just blows it all away on toys. It's money management he needs

IDW Arcee is a guy who was given a forced sex change operation, tortured the dude who did it for six straight years, and basically spends every minute of every day being absolutely miserable. It's also been postulated that he might be autistic.

I'm guessing he doesn't count.

Not sure how common that is for the minimum wage shit Chris is qualified for, to be honest. Even ADF had a retail job till he threw a tantrum and quit.

OTOH, the criminal charges may or may not be an issue depending on where he's looking. I think he'd probably have a better chance of that being brushed off if he used whatever board of developmental disabilities is relevant for his area to help him find something, but (ignoring how lazy he is here for a second) I'm genuinely not sure if he's even aware that's a thing that could help him, actually.

Maybe Marvin can recall the details better than me, but there was a point a few years ago where Rocky actually lined up a real job for Chris. Glass sorting or something of the like, but it was a paycheck that would've gotten Chris out of the house and brought him a good deal of extra money. Not an interview - Rocky talked to someone who had a job to give, and that person said "sure Rocky, the job is his. Just send him in." He had the job.

Chris went out of his way to not follow up with Rocky. He fell conveniently silent when the friends who knew about it asked why he wouldn't go for it despite constantly bitching about having money hardships.
 
I like how he talks about the SSDI provisions like they're actually some sort of limitation on him. As I recall, he is entitled to continue to claim SSDI even if he did secure a job worthy of someone his calibre.

I know Down Syndrome people who work harder than Chris, and they're way more disabled. Janitorial stuff, actually sorting recycling, small handicrafts, etc.

Difference is that they want to work hard and be productive, and Chris is the laziest person in the world, and thinks everything should be handed to him. Great parenting on Borb's part, yeah?
