No, that's a pretty good question. At a guess, I'd say they shop for food at WalMart & Food Lion, pay little attention to expiration dates and buy almost exclusively prepared food. Any cooking that gets done is either in a microwave or by bored teenagers at McDonalds.
 
Didn't Chris say they had three refrigerators in their house? And what's with their kitchen being on the second floor? I have never heard of that in a single family house.

I've known people with multiple refrigerators. The difference between them and the Chandlers is that they semi-regularly entertain guests and make a decent amount of money. I shudder to think the condition of the Chandler's 3 fridges.

Oh yeah, I've seen multiple refrigerators in houses. It's fairly common to have a fridge in the garage, for example. But I can't imagine why they'd need three in a house that size and with a kitchen that is so clearly unusable. One can only wonder what kind of odd frozen food relics there must be in those freezers.

I've watched enough Hoarders to know that whatever is buried in there cannot be good. And is probably blackened and unidentifiable. And Barb would probably maintain that it's edible.
 
I'm sure there's all manner of dead rats in there now, not to mention the several metric tons of rat, dog, cat, and whatever else might be living there shit. Who knows? Perhaps they even have bats in there now.
 
I wonder what will happen to the house if Chris, Barb and the two dogs died.
 
The garbage hoard is roughly 3 months from gaining sentience, in my estimation. Whether this Salvation Army Golem will act in a positive, negative or neutral capacity is beyond my reckoning.

He did mention they had bats in their belfry in the second part of the house tour...
 
Werent there people helping to clean out their house? people from the church who wanted to help them out after the trial and all.

I would hate to see the cleanup effort at that house. A large dumpster with another at the ready, Barb fighting the cleanup crew (who are wearing protective suits and masks), Chris nowhere to be found...

I doubt anything in that Kitchen can be used anymore except for the microwave. I can see them using that a lot

In the Rocky call she mentions that they aren't comfortable having people around there. So if anyone was sent over I think Barb would chase them away very quickly

Chris would undoubtedly be in his room, hiding beneath a pile of plush dolls with his PS3 (still plugged in) clutched to his masculine bosom.
 
I wonder if even the microwave oven is accessible, if the reports of them regularly microwaving their Hungry Man "dinners" at the grocery store are true.

I had to help clear a hoarding house to "repay my debt to society," and one thing that stood out was that the house had 6 microwave ovens. As each one would disappear in the junk, they bought another one. It was like seeing rings in a tree; we could tell that the former owner would bury each one in about 9 months. I can see this being the case at 14 Branchland Ct., as well. Barb strikes me as the type of compulsive shit-junkie that actually enjoys making redundant purchases as stuff is absorbed into her hoard.
