A friend of a friend recently asked me to translate the user manual for his product from English to French. I was fine with that, but now he is asking if I can translate the manual into German as well, and I am unfortunately illiterate in that language. I still owe him a favor, so I am in an awkward position to refuse to help him.

If anyone here is proficient in German and can help ( @DykesDykesChina @Luminous Being etc), I am offering 14 GBP and 5 DN for a German translation of all the English text in the manual. The product is an electronic tuner (stimmgerät) for musical instruments, so hopefully that helps explain all the references to "tuning" in the text.

I have also attached the manual as a PDF if you want to directly edit the text there.

Hiring a certified translator might be a better solution here because translating technical jargon is quite difficult.

It would be awesome to have the illustrator file, but I could theoretically do it with the PDF. Editing the layout inside the PDF is a bit iffy tho, so maybe I'll just approximate the text in a different document. Will take a bit of time but if I feel up to it I just might try to translate it. No promises.
