So let me get this straight right, usually when someone is a cunt and just doesn't show up they will tell them to get fucked and they have to start the whole process again but Phil being a lucky pigroach just gets to have an extension? And probably just keep getting them? And then the courthouse will shutdown because someone there will get the corona virus. It just keeps happening. He must be some kind of demi god of greed.

From what I've been able to find you almost always get the extension even if you just flatout don't show up. But the trustee is gonna be unhappy about it and not be as willing to work with you.

Remember this meeting is literally just 'are you Phil?' 'Yes.' 'Is this your chapter 7?' 'Yes'.

She's got all the time in the world (as well as the creditors) to fuck him after the meeting that literally just establishes he exists.

Finally got to catch up on this! So, Philly boy missed the court date... He's done for lol. From reading what Lightsyde said with his contact - if they were grilling the CEO of a pipe company - then Phil is literally not safe. They'll most defiantly hit him with the why do you need 5k for business expense(s) - and this is not a good look for Phil. As my Grandpa use to say: "If you're not early, then you're late". So, Phil either has confirmed to the creditors he is not reliable and will look further into him due to him knowing this date since when? Early February ? and he couldn't call ahead to cancel and reschedule ? I am in no means a creditor, but regardless if you flake on an important meeting the next time we meet I will either have less trust in you or in your ability to be punctual on the scheduled date.

It's probably typical for most people to get an extension. At least he had someone representing him there to ask for it. Maybe if you don't and you just blow it off they immediately file to dismiss. It's certainly within their power.

The pigroach might live up to his name if it's the lawyer's fault for not showing up due to whatever reason.

A lawyer from the firm showed up, they don't care who. It's not a thing.

Phil doesn't just have the foreclosure in Connecticut, he has a mortgage on the WAkondo too. Secured creditors get antsy when you declare bankruptcy and someone else is foreclosing on you on another property. His mortgage agreement (that he probably hasn't read) might even allow them to foreclose immediately if he can't pay off the entire balance on a triggering event like a bankruptcy. He is stupid and probably doesn't know whether there even is such a clause.

If you were already suspicious of the pigroach and worried he might default on your loan like he's defaulting on every other loan, even if he hasn't yet, you might be inclined to take advantage of that acceleration clause. If the pigroach then just blows off the first hearing after declaring bankruptcy, you probably decide it's time to do just that.

Blowing this off is the single dumbest thing the pigroach could have done.

Did DSP blow off the meeting? It seems that Rochelle had a stand-in from her firm and maybe told Phil that his case would get postponed.

I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Dark here and assume that some “behind the scenes” finnagling happened and he’s refusing to talk about it.

What I am surprised about is the complete omission of any gloating during today’s stream about how we’re all idiots for thinking his 341 Meeting was today when it wasn’t. It’s an easy “win” for DSP but he made no mention of it.

Also, his behavior was particular today. He was pissier than usual and lashed out on his chat multiple times.

He’s stressed about something but given the tax bullshit and his overspending on gacha games, it could be a combination of everything.

He can't claim a win because he spent all week pretending it wasn't even something happening.

I believe he's worried about taxes not matching the bankruptcy filing

Unfortunately, it looks like DSP might manage to pigroach his way out of the new 341 meeting, due the Chinese Flu. Absolutely unbelievable.

I swear this motherfucker put all his points into luck. The Teflon Don of lolcows. Especially since the automatic stay was granted as soon as he filed it means that for the duration of this shut down he is both protected from some of his creditors AND doesn't have to go through the actual proceeding yet. So for a time he's going to get all the benefits of bankruptcy with none of the drawbacks. He no-shows for the 341 and is granted a continuation and THE NEXT DAY the court essentially continues all cases to a time yet to be determined. When they do come back there is sure to be a massive backlog of cases to work through. Absolutely outstanding.

I fucking knew it would happen. Pig has bought himself some time. So he is going to be riding high for quite a while. Unless he gets coughed on at Taco Bell.
This isn't the bankruptcy court and even if it would be, his hearing could very well occur over phone.

david davidson on twitter, the best thing about the delayed bankruptcy, is dsp's equity going up

however I think the equity, even though it's fabricated, wouldn't the figure at the date of filing be relevant?

Yeah, not sure why everyone is acting like Phil is just going to get his bankruptcy Scot-free now. This just delays it a little, racking up more debt and giving more time for the trustee to dig.
The Pigroach stuff gets to us detractors sometimes. No matter the reason for the delay, it's bad for Phil and a near certainty now that he's going to be in a world of financial hurt soon.

Then just stop believing the pigroach meme. DSP is a loser and always has been. He's declaring bankruptcy for half a million in debt and streaming to sub 400 people. He's not teflon or invincible or unstoppable or any of that nonsense and frankly the people who push that meme are being straight up optimistic. He's been dying a slow death for the past 3 years at least, and it's not getting better even if all of Seattle gets infected with the C-virus.

It is pretty funny that an outbreak of a deadly disease can be considered the lone positive for DSP's situation. The one thing working in his favor: global plague.
