I found out accidentally that having a user on Ignore will hide a thread he or she authored from my watched queue, so if nothing else works, you could try that.

I know you're kidding in the posted... thing, but did you try it? Like I said, I had someone on ignore, but when I found that I had to keep hitting the "Show me anyways [sic]" button on my watched threads queue, it made me realize why that was happening, so I un-ignored that user and achieved what I think is the opposite of your mission, so it stands to reason that you could use "Ignore" on the author of the thread you want to hide, and thus reverse my operation to get what you seek.

Well shit, since nobody will ever see this ill admit here that i handwash my pants with dishsoap in a pot in my bathtub because i only have 1 pair of pants and the washing machine takes too long.
