Tbh, the whole voice-changing thing is likely a bit overstated. All of the V-tubers who work with a company have to audition, and I'm sure just having kind of a cute/different voice, in general, helps them out when they're auditioning. Pippa mentions it in her stream about Meigh's audition but a lot of the V-tuber companies create their models ahead of time, and then take auditions for people to fill those roles so they want to hire someone whose voice matches the model and character they created.

Not to talk shit on her but it makes me wonder then why Botan has the voice she does, that design screams mature and deep ara ara kinda voice. Though Ive grown accustom to it.

But that is legit how works and usually 9 times out of 10, its always a decent voice for the character. Folks tend to forget that its almost the same as anime and game voice casting.

Yeah people are way too autistic about that. To me it's literally the difference between your speaking voice and your customer service voice. For reference watch the video of the black news anchor suddenly losing his white voice and going full ghetto. It's a voice you don't even realize you're doing unless you heard it back.

Yeah and in a lot of ways they're likely more strict on that than what they are anime and game voice casting because if they get it wrong while streaming, there's no just retaking a scene. I'd say even some of the more out there voices like Gura's or Baelz's are not too far off from their normal speaking voices.

Yeah and in a lot of ways they're likely more strict on that than what they are anime and game voice casting because if they get it wrong while streaming, there's no just retaking a scene. I'd say even some of the more out there voices like Gura's or Baelz's are not too far off from their normal speaking voices.

Gura is just a reskinned less edgy more family friendly Senzawa, well now she is, she tried too hard at the start. Calli is basically just DICE but a bit more autistic. Thats usually when they shine the best.

Before the Ralph segment, the same VTuber spent 2 hours criticizing all May's videos and calling her a degenerate. It really was an epic event. It was only after she bashed May for all that time did she just casually mention Ralph when her stream blew up.
