Was going to be a prick and just comment about how 2 should just shut the fuck up but on second thoughts here:

Maybe instead of spending all your time crying endlessly into the void of Twitter and how you seem very adamant on telling people how it is and how it really was: write a book or something. I know you write. I read one of your little short (emphasis on short) stories in some furry novel compilation from way back.

Instead of living up to the tired old internet trope of being a pissed off character about Subject X do something constructive. Write a book about your perspective on how the fandom got started. Do some research, maybe you'll find out some stuff you may have been oblivious to at the time. Hell, there are already quite a few pieces about that exact thing. One more book won't hurt.

And if it turns out that you are right all along then hey, you got it written in black and white and people can use you and the sources you provide in said book as a resource tool.

If not, hey, you wrote a book, some geriatric furry is gonna read it because I'm pretty sure you're still popular with that crowd. Earn some pocket money off your side hustle.

The men who founded the first furry convention back before this man joined the fandom were a gay couple and founded the con specifically to get away from the sci-fi nerds (of all people) being pretentious about sexuality. C'mon 2 just bcause LGBTAWQESDSUDY didn't exist as a term back then doesn't mean that horny gay men weren't running the show.

It kinda wasn't. Early furry was composed of a bunch of nerds that wrote fantasy/sci fi stuff but with furries. The whole Merlino deal and advertising in gay magazines was what really kicked it off. A good indication of this is how many mid-range old guard furries are "gay" but still get off to female furry porn.

If he was going down that route, that the fandom wasn't started "by LGBT", I probably would have let this slide and chalked it up to typical Twitter drama. Continuing to claim furry conventions weren't started "by LGBT" is far from true, as @Catboi mentioned.

Still, for whatever reason I'm amazed at just how tone deaf he is. I get that he's trying hard to be "edgy" in order to continue his early 2000s road to popularity but it's just so... I don't know, it's like when furries discover a meme 4 months after it's popular, stuff gets really watered down and forced.

When he says "that organization", I think he means LGBT as a political block. As in, Antifa, BLM, Stonewall, those kinds of groups.

Yeah, I think he might be right (I was there too), but is articulating it fuckawful.

Early furry didn't have much of the 'organized LGBT' in it. It was a bunch of dudes who liked to fuck each other, not so political. There was some (see the ancient Taurin Fox pic of the crying proud gay fox that became a meme template), but not much at all.

There were fags all over the place, though. Merlino saw to that. The stuff before the late-stage Confurences had a lot more straight sci-fi fans, as others said.

If you're talking about 2, I don't really have an answer for that. The podcast I included was from 2018 but considering that the two of them are still in contact with one another... yeah idk. Big fuckin yikes on a motherfuckin trike I guess.
