I've been in a state of needing to catch up on the Keffals thread for a couple weeks, and it feels like we're getting a whole lot of nothing from this side in the first place. The amount of sperging for the sake of trying to add something to the thread and failing (or just some level of gayops) has made the whole thread largely sluggish to read through, taking a break from all that shit is definitely the best option for all of us.
And I know plenty of people have said this in the other thread already, but looking out for yourself is the best thing to do for the time being, Null, focusing on family first is for the best.

Oh I agree completely with this mate. Its a fucking unreadable mess. It reads like a 4chan cesspit, just endlessly filled with try hard faggots with the same shitty jokes "you will never be a man, I hate you, blah blah". I suspect an influx of user from pol or the like has turned the tone of some of the boards into that shit. I would have no issue with the site getting back up and running proper, but with some restrictions. Like people unable to post in a single thread more than once an hour, unless they prove they have provided something of value to the thread and that restriction is lifted.

And lets face it, plenty of newer accounts (or old sleeper/unused accounts) are being used by people to try to paint this website in a bad light. They know they can get away with it, and its a really hard thing to moderate without fucking up genuine users. Its a toughie for Jewsh, he needs help from his babushkas on this one.

I've been lurking this forum for 4 years, made an account this year (I think? Don't remember and can't be bothered to check), and this will be my first post on the forum (better late than never).

My thoughts are with Josh's family and his own well-being. I don't see eye to eye often with this individual but it's important that everyone take some time off to lick their wounds and later regroup.

I don't remember why I started typing or what I was going to say really. It was just a compulsion to just post something in the middle of all of this, I guess. Or maybe just feeling the catharsis of being able to post somewhere freely where some people might throw banter at me but at least I know I won't be banned for my keyboard diarrhea. I dunno....

It lacked the playfulness we usually have.

It is necessary for some of those emotions to be expressed. Especially in writing, and counterintuitive to the spirit of the website to stifle that.

This is a good idea. Without KF to cause the attention feedback loop, bad actors may try to reorient to 4chan or mumsnet, neither would work out well. The infighting was already starting yesterday, so I'm expecting the house of cards to collapse soon.

Throughout all of this, even if we have to be quiet about it, never forget to ARCHIVE EVERYTHING.

This is true too. I'm not going to engage with any of the twitter shit but I know the MVPs will be on the case archiving everything.

Food for thought regarding those threads though: they were going a mile a minute, a page an hour or less some days. Most of it was unfunny commentary, posters toeing the line for fedposting, MATI posting, or plain low quality posting. Earlier in the thread before the first 500 pages or so someone brought up the 'glowie handbook' which mentioned the tactic of flooding threads with shitty posts or deliberately acting dumb to slide key info out of reach. Most of the drama threads were a near constant forum slide. Gets the noggin joggin for sure but the simplest answer is autists vs autists and a hot button issue attracting low quality posts.

With any luck the reduced heat will give the site some time to decompress and people can disconnect their MATI brains and get back to laughing at funny idiots on the internet.

New to Tor. I'm just assuming there isn't, but there's no dumb way to get pages to load faster, right? Just making sure if there's some extra security i'm needlessly using on Brave that's slowing things down.

The tor stuff on Brave is a lot slower compared to the actual Tor browser. I'd just use that instead.
