Chris makes an observation that absolutely nobody else has ever thought of: the computer as a modern telegraph. True and, somehow, funny.

What situation?

Gotta agree with this. All it seems to be is Chris thinking off something "witty" and so posts it up on the closest thing to a blog that he has right now.

His post-fire updates seem a bit more mellow; perhaps this is a sign that he's resigned to his situation?

He hasn't been mellow. Up until his e-bay pictures started selling and thus people started giving him money for his lego addiction he was as bitter and angry as always. Right now he's only happy because he now has money to waste on new toys.

I knew Chris was old-fashioned due to his upbringing, but /facepalm.

That's because Chris got some extra cash recently and immediately spent it all on Legos. The junkie's had his fix.......for now.

Once the insurance company turns off the money spigot and the Chris/Barb are out on their own, I'm sure dah stress will kick back in.

I've never been in this situation, but how long does someone get in a rental home before the insurance stops covering it? Is it after a certain amount of time or a certain monetary amount spent?

Sad part is Bob probably did, or at least could, understand integrated circuits and microprocessors on a real physical level. And, yeah, a telegraph is a relay and it's a computer but only in the same way that a grain of sand is a beach. Get trillions of them working together... Yeah.

So Chris is like an old fashioned where his 80 year old father was more in touch with the present.

I see Bob as a bit of a "good old boy" who was at least adept enough to be knowledgeable about tech as late as the mid-50's. It was enough to get automated machinery designed. I doubt Bob could have worked in any division on something more sophisticated like 60's space-age tech though.

And I wonder what Sonichu would look like if done in the old-timey UB Iwerks style of black & white cartoon? If I had any artistic talent, I'd give it a wack.
