Yeah, Howard played his best game of the competition today and you can't really blame him on either of those goals, just great individual strikes by Belgium's specialty, talented attacking forwards who command huge transfer fees in the pro leagues all over the world. A healthy Altidore would have probably made the difference there but once the US failed to convert on the great two on goalie opportunity off that free kick late in the second half, it was pretty obvious there wasn't going to be any upset.
Still, first time in program history they've gotten to the knockout stage in two consecutive tournaments so they were playing with house money in a lot of ways, Klinsmann tried to pull all the strings he could but there's only so much he can do from the sidelines. It was fun to watch them press once they fell behind and turn something hopeless into something interesting, the entire team is in great physical condition which is the only way they can cover for their lack of skill in keeping possession or passing in the offensive zone to generate scoring chances.
