Oh the boycot Oscars people even held their own awards show instead called the Flakies. And of course they all posted nonstop about boycotting the Oscars.

You mean because that shitty Moana movie about animated brown people didn't win Best Animated Film? I haven't yet seen anyone reeeee'ing over Moana getting snubbed yet -- because I've removed people like that from my life -- but honestly the irony of them getting uppity over Moana, an explicitly heavy-handed "pee oh sea" movie, instead of celebrating Zootopia, which was much more covert with its themes of racial inclusion, would be hilarious.

In what world what Zootopia "covert"? It was like being smashed in the face with a sledgehammer that had "RACISM IS BAD!" stenciled on it.

After dicaprio won an oscar the magic was gone from the future events.

That reminds me of something that one of my friends linked during our own Oscars bitchfest:

Zootopia did say that they can't hold others responsible for their ancestor's mistakes, which may not go down well with the left. They do not like it when people say that racial inclusiveness goes both ways.

(Mostly male) BLM supporters REEEEE about Moonlight getting an Oscar because gay black men are a threat to Black Manhood and promoting a movie that tells the story of a gay black guy is all according to the white supremacist's plan or something.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go see La La Land and bask in my white privilege.
i bet if la la land took the oscar home, they'd have lost their shit anyway. it's like a catch 22, can't win them over anyway because of their batshit ideologies.

Lala Land should have won just so that Twitter idiots could have something that isn't Trump to scream about for a few days.

Have you seen these idiots in action? If La La Land won, the first person they would be blaming is Trump for "encouraging white pride among all forms of media" and say something like the power of the Gay Black Man shall not be silenced under the current Administration or some other stupid crap.

My thought is that they gave it to moonlight just to throw a bone/virtue signal/token the movie after the #oscarsowhite static from the last couple years so they can continue as business as usual. I'm calling it now. Moonlight will be the only majority black oscar winner this decade.

Brokeback Mountain Part 2: This Time They're Black.
No, I saw Brokeback Mountain a few years ago and Moonlight last week, and Moonlight was just stupid. Moonlight was slow and deprived of any real drama except for an inappropriate scene with two male teens. Giving Moonlight an award for best picture was very much like electing a teen with down syndrome as homecoming king.
These awards shows have been redundant since the early 80s.
It was just Oscars affirmative action. Viola davis did not deserve that award either, it's not like she was playing something like Carmen Jones (1954). She essentially played the same role as she did in the help. The most diverse role she's played is the one she is on "how to get away with murder".

It's a shame because Viola Davis is a legitimately talented actress who always seems to be given "that one black lady" roles.

She's alright, but kinda only plays the one character, but does it pretty well.

So she's the female Samuel L. Jackson is what you're saying.
Yeah.

See Also: Nicholas Cage, Sean Connery, Emma Watson, Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, Jackie Chan, Adam Sandler, Chloe Mortez, any cast member of the Big bang Theory, Two Broke Girls and any given sitcom or prime time mellow-drama.

He changed his last name to Cage (because of Luke Cage) to avoid nepotism. His middle name is T'Challa (Black Panther's real name).

To avoid nepotism. Uh huh. I'm pretty sure if I knew it, everyone in Hollywood did.
