It would take him literally months even with his business class account. There are services for transferring large amounts of data where you simply mirror hard drives and physically ship them somewhere, but they aren't free. Some services will give big (actually paying customers) this as a free service, but DSP is a pigroach. He isn't in that class.

Not true for anyone who put effort in, totally true for DSP.

If he saved the metadata (titles/tags/descriptions) he could do it in probably a month or two if it were left on in the background. It probably wouldn't even require any human interaction if it was set up properly.

But he'd have to fill in everything manually.

For everyone else they'd use this:

https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/guides/uploading_a_video

The issue isn't uploading 50,000 videos
The issue is that there is no market for 50,000 low effort/terrible videos.

But I wonder how long it's been since he booted some of those drives? I'm not exactly a computer expert, but my understanding is that without routine rotation, data saved to a drive like that will eventually be corrupted.
Maybe computers 30 years ago worked like that, but anything made recently doesn't have that problem. I've booted up computers that sat out in a shed for 10 years and they were fine. Anything Phil has put on a hard drive is still going to be there. The only thing limiting him is the shear unfeasibility of uploading tens of thousands of videos to a viewerbase who's not even going to watch them.

So he would disable his archives in an attempt to drive traffic to his YouTube channel to make more money? Fucking hell, who goes through that much effort to make it so difficult for your fans just to engage with your content?

Phil brings up a very fair point. Who knows if he really thought it up himself. Doesn't matter. He's no longer a "variety" streamer. His variety factor has narrowed and narrowed over the last 12 months to just PUBG and Street Fighter, two games that make for very spammy DSPG uploads. And a lot of fucking PUBG, mind you. It's his favorite game by some distance. 170 hours streamed since he first caught wind of it mid-December.

Before he spammed, but at least then it was somewhat different games. Now it's PUBG and SFIIST.

And his lifetime Twitch stats runtimes (since the return) as a bonus.

That's not really a certainty.
It very much depends on the drive/model/quality of it.

If its a shitty USB external drive like DSP buys, then yes, I've seen plenty of issues with those.

"Complete horseshit"

Bruh, people have been telling you for YEARS your method of curating content on YouTube is actually the dumbest thing ever. C'mon now.

Phil has a container in his closer, that's filled with thousands of key rings usb flash drives. "Huh?! What's a Ter-a-byte?"

This new session of DarkSydePhil is amazing. Thank you very much, amazing authors.

You fuckers wrote without me and I just edited my post? That's not fair, I did nothing wrong, oh ma gad. Then let me at least quote myself. Broken forum mechanics.

I'm in the middle of making food and can't sit here all day. Can this roach start to explain what's going on or does he want to play the fuckin game already explain this shit in under one hour?! Stop stretching this shit, there is nothing to gain. The longer it went the more fake it will sound.

Now he explains the history of his channel! KILL ME! Who watches his vlogs and doesn't know what he does?!

AHA! HAHAHA! His Google+ Account was suspended because of spam. Which means his upload of 15-20 videos a day was the whole reason. And without a G+ account his YT-channel gets also suspended because it's not linked to G+ anymore. So it was entirely his fault! I'm laughing so hard! HA HA HA!
Well, Phil, this is literally spam. Everybody knows that except you. Especially your Street Fighter videos. I wonder if he will learn anything from that. Doesn't sound like it.

HE DID NOTHING WRONG! HE DID EVERYTHING RIGHT ON HIS CHANNEL! HA HA HA.
And he thinks because he fills out a form no human will watch this form. Yes, this makes perfectly sense, Phil. Collecting your data for further use to help you means there is an automated process who will watch at your problem, it's actually Skynet and it hates you.

HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
You have to wait! The support told you to wait! It's the old story with his G+ account all over again. These big flashbacks, it's blinding!

I love you, new spam filter on Google+ :feels:
And even if this is just temporary, this episode is amazing.

Let's not kid ourselves with "Phil declaring bankruptcy." His YT accounts have been dead as shit for a long time now, getting barely any views, and he even constantly "threatened" to leave YT to stick to Twitch full time. Now all of a sudden he's "going to have to declare bankruptcy?"

Fucking. Bull. Shit. Dave.

Doesn't he realize he has literally months left before autumn/winter hits his town ?

It's pretty cold outside during winter ...
