2018-6-17 DSP tries it - Half Life 2 playthrough - Letsplayers crimes against humanity

So apparently all shooters were like HL 2 in the mid 2000's, according to Phil. I wasn't aware of that. I mean a game like FEAR is just like Half Life 2, right?

He said some bullshit about how FPS games didn't have heavy story lines before the some specific console or some stupid shit.

Don't trigger me like that. There have been countless people asking for it but he always refuses. For kwahlity playthroughs like this one

Even if he did decide to play it now, he would only make himself look like more of a jackass. He already threw a friend under the bus for the sake of validating his horrible opinion of the game, and this is AFTER running away from a collab with a far more popular and well-respected streamer which could have gained Phil a shitload more exposure and maybe even repaired some of his online image.

Back on topic, admittedly i'm not watching Phil's stream cause I can't stomach it (I appreciate the people who are watching/updating the thread). Has the playthrough already approached MGS-tier bad, cause I never thought that'd be possible to see again.

I have no idea and I've watched very few of his gaming streams but its really indicative of how little effort he puts into everything.
There's an excuse for everything.
He spends more time reading chat than playing the game.
He has no interest in the game or the story or the universe.
Won't play on PC because it'd be too much effort.

Its basically like he's almost entirely unimmersed in the game. He makes dumb jokes as usual, makes dumb jokes when there is music and just doesn't seem to really look like he cares about the game (although he's said he's having fun so far).

With any luck he doesn't bored quit and actually finishes it because the game does take off after a short while.

He just saw a rag doll stuck in a door.
From the way he reacted it must've been the first time he's seen a physics glitch which happens in Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal & Portal 2.

Professional gamer.

Apparently people in chat are spamming asking what shoes he wears.
He says he doesn't understand it so it must be a detractor meme.

Asking what shoes someone wears is probably the most enlightened thing I've ever seen someone in DSP's chat ever say. Its even more intelligent than the majority of anything DSP says.

Just came back and pretty obvious he's been reading a guide and is saying how he "thinks" he is coming up on the gravity gun.

This will be true going forward for pretty much any game with even the simplest puzzles. Phil can't stand the idea of possibly being wrong. Notice that he always has some idea of how long the game will take now, except for maybe brand new ones, or how far along in the game he is? He seeks out guides. And even with that, he's still a fuck-up. It's incredible.

Pretty sure he just crapped his briefs when Dog ran up past him in yet another scripted event he was not aware of

Hes knows whats up, he was trying to put Dogs ball thru the basketball hoop cuz he knew theres a achievement for it...

If he trys to go thru Ravenholm using only the gravity gun, then he is obviously using a guide, theres a achievement for doing that whole part with just the gravity gun and it seems thats exactly what hes trying to do... man he is such a liar...

So based upon what he's saying.
The last time he played this game he got to where you get the gravity gun...
and quit the game?

That doesn't even make any sense.

He was deffo using a guide, for someone who claims they can't remember games they played a year ago he sure had a good memory of almost everything in the game and mysteriously knew exactly where to look for some really well hidden Lambda caches.
