2018-6-17 DSP tries it - Half Life 2 playthrough - Letsplayers crimes against humanity

He really hates the kb+m on PC and stated this numerous times. In that one game where you climb with a sledgehammer, he constantly complained about how his hand cramps up and hurts when he uses the mouse.

This is also coming from the same person who claimed to have built his own computers and hosted LAN parties for Unreal Tournament in his basement when he was a teenager btw.

He's likely fucked his hands up from holding the controller for so many hours of the day during his 10 year legacy.

I love how he can't do anything but praise the game even as his salt builds because he knows it's a classic.

He's not willing to be contrarian when it might make people made even when he's visibly upset, the coward.

lol its a thatdogguy post.
thatdogguy/amityville are likely the same person and pretty obviously nudnig detractors who instead of trolling DSP just work towards his insecurities and anyone criticism by blindly praising him.

There are little slip ups here and there where you can notice they're just fucking around.

Even EmperorSwagginz called KiwiFarms "The Farms" so its pretty obvious most of his top tier dick riders, while not typical detractors, are purely surrounding DSP because detractors getting angry is funny (which is also the only reason KGhaleon seems to be around too).

its clear they have always been detractors but its a little retarded how on the forums he will have his accounts reply back to one another. seems he has way too much time on his hands with how much he posts. Wasnt there a period a couple months ago he made it seem like he was going to be gone for good? He hinted at either a major health problem or a suicide.

Id be shocked if phil thought they were real fans. If I remember didnt he use a picture of a black guy that died years ago?

I think amity... his whole game is to be on the forums and chase off any new person or any person making valid points. almost to come off as a super fan but act in a moronic way almost making dsp look bad in the process. like hey "this is one of dsp's loyal fans look how retarded he is"/ Kind of like what the SOK did creating sammy samosa

What a giant weeping pussy. Any real man or real woman for that matter can play keyboard+mouse and love it.

Was it at the end of a stream? If so I hope he ends up in a death loop.
Happened at the double turret + shield wall trap where you have to slide into the vent in Nova. He died 3 times to it, but first wasted all his grenades, all his alt fire grenades, and whittled his health down for five minutes before the save. Only reason he realized to go through the vent was because he spun around when he died the first time and ended up facing it on the ground. Got through eventually and healed up.

It amazes me that he can sometimes shoot distant enemies with semi-accuracy but fail to notice a huge jumpable gap ahead of him.

HL2 is actually a good game for gauging how good/bad his eyesight actually is. Mainly because its a lot cleaner and less frantic than Call of Duty and other newer games.
He doesn't seem to be squinting either.

When its in Call of Duty it doesn't seem to be an issue of aiming, but rather with timing/actual precision.

He completely misses environmental details. He seems to miss sound queues that are very prominent in HL2 like the health/charge sounds or gravity gun charge/empty sounds very frequently but he does rarely catch them and comment on them. You can notice he's missing them because he does stuff that is "wrong" when he misses them.

It mostly seems that he's either no paying attention/not actually immersed in the game or is more focused on chat. But having seen him play driving games once or twice I'm guessing he's just not actually immersed in the game.

You can see it with weapon choice as well because he's running around with the crossbow at full ammo and only uses it when he's really, really stuck. He'll just use the SMG 95% of the time.

You can also notice when he approaches a problem he looks at almost entirely one dimensionally. I rarely see him look around from different perspectives when he sees a problem. He sees the problem, but rather than try to proactively find a solution he'll just throw random shit at it until it works.

When he's near the prison area there are two different occasions where he just walks straight into a situation you'd expect most people being aware that it'd require jumping or sprinting. He slows down before, because he often recognizes there is a gap, but he doesn't think to look from an angle to see how big the gap actually is.

I guess he's the guy you go to the movies with to see something serious who completely misses every major plot point and has no idea what the movie was about.

He does seem to genuinely like the game though. I'm still amazed that he only played it until he got the gravity gun and then quit it (for whatever good excuse there was to do that back when he played it)

The thing that pisses me off the most is that he still hasn't figured out you can fire the gravity gun with nothing in it if you just primary fire it close to something. Instead he stops and picks up each object to move it out of the way.

He likes it b/c he's playing a gimped console version. Even on "normal", he's taking an absurdly small amount of damage. I stopped in yesterday and he was getting shot at by a gunship. It hit him repeatedly, and his health was dropping by maybe 1 HP per shot (or the suit armor would drop by 1 if he had it). From a boss-battle type gunship attack. So he's basically able to face-tank enemies with little to no danger. There's ammo and health all over the place, so he's rarely without it. For fuck's sake, he was using the magnum on headcrabs instead of the fucking crowbar.

Edit: Oh, and holy shit the aim assist that's in this version of the game. He was doing one of the car highway sections, and the crosshairs were snapping onto a gunship from a fair distance away.

In his first stream it amazed me when he reached some barnacles which built a wall with their tentacles.
He looked at two alarm-red colored, explosive marked barrels ... And picked up the damn car tires to throw them at them. And then another one while you could still see the barrels. And I was like: WHY?! It took him a good chunk of time to realize the barrels, but until that revelation he struggled to cross the barnacles.

I really wanna see a full TIHYDP of this game. The potential is finally back.

Is it true that enemies also tend to stay in front of you on the console version? A change made because of how slowly you turn with a controller?

if you're talking about near the start of the game, that part was made specifically so you could see the barrel and the tentacles at the same time and go  hmmmmmmmm

phil couldn't figure it out if there was a giant sign that said "USE THE BARRELS YOU VAPID CUNT"

In a rare case I might actually check it out his HL2 videos. Checked if he was streaming it but he's not. He's playing jurassic park and H1Z1 today. Does he think people want to see him play these games lol?

Has he gotten to the lighthouse yet in HL2?

You have now peeked my interest to see a game designed specifically for Phil that spells out very clearly and in excruciating detail precisely what you need to do and where to go at every moment of the game. A game designed to be so easy an invalid could play it. That would be a playthrough of his I might actually be interested to watch, just to see him still manage to fuck it up.

He's autistic, no game is ideal for him, if its too easy then its repetitive and therefore "garbage" "idiot devs" "not wasting my time with this shiet", on the other hand if its too hard then the game is poorly coded "retarded devs", "can't block" "game is clearly cheating" and don't get me started as to what would happen if that game had MP, kek :D

If people throw thousands of dollars at him to play it, then that's Phil's ideal game. Having said that he did used to literally have people throw thousands of dollars at him to play games on Patreon, and he still bitched, prevaricated and outright ragequit them, so maybe I'm wrong on that score.
