I'm still amazed at how they managed to do security for such a big event, how the fuck did they get chosen ?
As noted in the e-mail, they're the industry organization for every major video game company except Microsoft. When Congress or states want to regulate they're the ones who go "we'll make our own ratings system leave us alone" or are the leads bringing court challenges to laws, etc. It's why they ultimately don't care about a bunch of fansites or YouTubers.

Shouldn't they go after this with privacy law instead of copyright law? am i exceptional individual?
Either way, nice response Null. Made me lol
No their compliance officer is just incompetent and exceptional. They are required by privacy law to try and secure the data but the same privacy law doesn't compel Null to take it down.

Edit - grammar

Telephone directories and lists of facts are not protected by copyright (see Feist). You cannot copyright information. This is an alphabetical list with no creative expression. If the list included notes like "is a faget!" and "smells like fuzzy dice", then they would have a case. Anyone and everyone is free to post this information however they want. You could even sell it, but so could everyone else.
My favorite part is when they bring up how this violates their Terms of Service, as if anyone cares about their piddly-dink little TSA that does not in anyway apply to us. Do these people not realize they can make a dignified request for take down because they're obligated to try, or is being an enraged shit flinging ape a requirement for employment in the tech industry?
They expect you to role over when you see the part about law and whatever. That is why they do it. It does not matter if the claim is valid. No one would expect you to lawyer up over a dumb list of nobodies.

It's probably because they're used to dealing with games journalists that they figured this kind of thing would take care of the "problem" of The Kiwi Farms that they're getting bugged about. "Tell em copyrighted trade secrets under NDA or something and they'll take it down."

It's amazing how many organizations expect the average person to assume the DMCA is a surefire TAKE THIS OFF THE INTERNET NOW NOW NOW law.
EDIT: Also privacy law isn't fucking real and only third world Europeans think that publicly available facts can also somehow be private.

Imagine it being your job to write this kind of shit to websites youve never visted, every day of your worklife.

The types of people who are into the most fucked up porn, are the same types locked in a room typing these emails all day.
