2021 Theme

The new theme does some crazy shit with the text and images when you start scrolling on mobile (Android + Brave), like the kind of visual distortion you get from looking off in the distance when it's hot outside. The effect isn't consistent between different threads or even pages: on some it's mild and almost tolerable, but on others it's like jamming a thousand needles into my eyes. Here's a recording of me scrolling on three different pages of this thread so you can see what I'm talking about:

Beyond that, I have several comments regarding the readability and usability of the new theme compared to the old one. Some may seem like nitpicks but I think all of them have a tangible impact on the site's user experience. Here are some comparison images with explanations — the old theme is on the left, the new theme is on the right:

Quibbles aside, that others have mentioned anyway, I like that this theme has the row of menu options like "Mark Forums Read" visible on the main screen instead of having to go to it via a pulldown. Looks good overall.

Do not post just to say you "don't like it".
No, the feature to choose a font size was a part of ThemeHouse and will not be present in this style.
If you are using the new theme, you should expect the site to glitch out. When I change things, it will recache the CSS.
If the site looks completely broken, wait a few seconds and refresh. If it's still broken after a few minutes, report it.

I am looking for broad complaints and obvious which can be addressed, rather than nitpicks.
"The font is different", "this part of the site is hard to read", "this doesn't work", "this hurts my eyes", etc are what I'm looking for.
"You should add 10px to this margin" is not, because of how much I am changing.

I'm forcing this on everyone on January, so make do.

The new theme is MUCH better. Thank you!

-edit.. maybe make the description text under each forum a bit brighter though..
 
One thing I don't like is how watched threads doesn't let you show nothing but unread ones (unless it does and I'm missing it). Also the indicator of whether a thread is read or not isn't highlighting any more, but a tiny circle to the left of the title which is either dark gray or barely visible.

I just want to say the new theme is 1000 times better mobile than the old theme house one.
Desktop I have some niggles but I’ll wait for it to be finished before giving my feedback.
Honestly having a much better time on mobile now than before!

I don't know why, but every time I go to this thread the whole site becomes a laggy and a broken mess no matter how many times I refresh or close the tab and open the thread again. Don't know if it's just happening to me.

Can you make it easier to see if a thread has unread posts?
Either make the little circle more distinguishable (make it bright green if there are unread posts), or make the thread title bolder and a brighter color

Not sure how late this is but, I feel the notifications little number sign and the "Highlight" post marker should have a different color from the gray on the dark theme. These are easy to overlook with the current colors.

Minor complaint.

This is the current Happenings box. There is no spacing or padding between events, so everything kinda runs together. Notice how the Apollo headline goes on for two lines, but doesn't look any different than the one-line headlines. I know "learn to read faggot" is a viable alternative than changing the CSS but I think a bit of space between individual happenings would make it easier to read.
 
Yo the Dark theme is fine and feels like the farms even in its current broken/rough state. Retarded INTP is satisfied. That's a damn first.
