I don't think he's making Sonichu because of the Patreon money. He didn't honor his obligation to DStecks very quickly, and he wasn't fulfilling his obligations from the online store page purchases ($10/page I believe on eBay or Etsy).

I think he just started to enjoy drawing again. He hasn't been pushing for people to draw the comic or write stories for him like he has for people to make the amiibo and medallions.
