4chan Attempts to make Hashtag Hate Symbol. - If 4Chan could speak Chinese Trump would have Head of Pooh mounted above his fireplace.

Okay, I'll bite; I've been eating crayons all morning. Please do explain.

99% of people don't use the OK hand symbol regularly. Some percentage of that for whatever reason don't know what it means, meaning that if they see 4 nazis doing the OK symbol it will be nearly impossible to convince them that it's not a nazi symbol, they saw it with their own two eyes. The KEK flag is a bait with historic symbolism but with plausible deniability that can trick some unaware people when only fairly innocent people like Sargon use it. The hashtag is used daily by all the types of people you are trying to decieve. At best the empty hashtag will be associated with nazis because they spam it so much, but people will never target people for normal hashtag use, unlike with the ok symbol. When they tried to force the dab it was a really mainstream movement with fortnite and normies and such but maybe they could force it now that no one does it anymore.

I find cryptofascism pretty cringe but it's effective and it's a direct response to pc culture making saying these things or having these inappropriate/racist/sexist thoughts that everyone has career suicide.

This is hilarious, but I feel like even this may be a bit of a stretch.

Who knows, though. A school in Chicago just spent the equivalent of a new car's worth of money to remove kids throwing the OK gesture because they were worried about white supremacists.

99% of people don't use hashtags regularly, either. As a connoisseur (and deep, abiding well) of human stupidity all I can confidently say is that the depths of foolishness are unfathomable. Also; we've seen lots of people who know better about the OK symbol still distance themselves from it because they're giant cucks who can't just say "No, that's not what it means TO ME." and tell people to fuck off.

In the land of the insane, the only cure is to have them immolate themselves by their own free will.

4Chan is like CIA its just that occasionally they actually manage to frag dictator with exploding cigar.
Even when they fail its still amusing to see the creativity.

People don't want to be seen as racist bad enough that even silly bullshit like the OK sign gets legs. It's not just virtue-signalling leftists - many white collar workers are in the position where if they say the wrong thing to the wrong person, they'll end up in HR or on the streets. Adaptation to the new double-talk is a survival instinct, and they're not going to be thinking too hard about the validity of these "racist" symbols out of fear. 4chan is correct in pointing out that this is fucking stupid, but it'd be nice not to have to read a bunch of faggot liberal news sites to know what not to say in public.

Exactly.

Leave the internet and you don't really hear about hashtags much outside of marketing. "It's the bomb dot com!" is the 20 years ago equicalent to someone saying "it's #thebomb".

Hashtags have always been kind of retarded. The idea is that you use them to discuss a subject on something as scattered as Twitter, right? So like if you want to discuss E3, you just write whatever and tag it #E3. But they seem more commonly used for marketing and flair. Search any hashtag you can find on some random product you have in your home and you'll just see a couple of douchebags going like "WOW I REALLY LIKE THESE TRASH BAGS #BAGYOURETRASH" and tweets from the company's official account. And not even funny tweets full of trolls replying like Tony the Tiger.

If this campaign gets marketers to budge and try something new I'm all for it. You can practically date things in your fridge by what social media bullshit's printed on the label these days.

Who the fuck am I kidding. I have a better chance at winning the lottery.

Godspeed 4chan
Tarrant could have done more accelerationist damage if he'd just kept to 4chan instead of playing Remove Kebab, but I guess he'd have to possess an imagination and...

This will 100% work, but they need to latch onto it for months at the very least.

There's a lot of autistic watchdog groups out there that will eventually cave in and legitimize it when it becomes a common sight on twitter

You idiot. If the Dot is outright calling it a troll in the headline most people won't take it seriously. This isn't like the ok hand.
The Okay hand sign was also after the initial madness stated to be a hoax and a troll.
Didn't do anything in the end.
All that's really needed for this to work is some good old fashion "dog whistling" and it'll take off same as the Okay and Clown emote.

Way too early to judge if it will work since the OK sign scheme was thought up in 2017 but didn't really blow up until recently. I do think that hashtags being much more widely used than the hand sign will make it significantly more difficult for this one to work as well. The Fashtag is fucking great, though.
