Anime and goonerbait are intertwined, anime needs """"fanservice""""" to keep weebs watching (reason for all those beach episodes). That's why in the essence of things, anime is hurtful towards one's soul.

If you're still open to recommendations, there's an anime called Baccano! that you might enjoy. It's an old crime thriller inspired by detective movies with a sci-fi twist. No pedobait or fanservice I remember of, although there is a tinge of gore that's related to the plot. There's even a 9/11 reference

See this is why you get people suggesting you anime all the time. This is like perfect bait designed in a lab to make people want to show you that one "good anime" that they love so much.

Even I want to do it and I have to bite my lip until it bleeds so I don't scream out the name of my favorite show where the Japanese accidentally made something timeless.

I can't tolerate my fucking oshi being disrespected like that. My oshi in this instance being a very old show that started in like 88 and is framed like a history documentary.

There is some good slice of life stuff that can be wholesome but most of what you said is correct.
The slice of life is a unique to japanese anime and manga.
