I've watched what people consider "good" anime too and I didn't like it. It's also hyper-gooner and every show has weird pedo shit in it. Even DBZ has Master Yoshi creeping on Bulma trying to get her panties and she's canonically 13. All of it just creeps me out, it's fucking weird goonbait, it's super spastic and annoying, and it's over the top emotional manipulation. I honestly can't think of a single show I've ever seen that I can't find flaws with. There is no Japanese Fight Club. Their culture and people are too alien to my own to make a product that is truly great.

Tbh I don't consider DBZ all that good. It's poorly paced and the power creep is ridiculous.

When I think of truly good anime I think of stuff like Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Samurai Champloo. Using those three as an example I struggle to recall anything particularly goonerbait about them. I guess Bebop does have Faye Valentine as one of the main characters but I don't consider one woman who wears less than modest outfits to be "goonerbait" especially when she's also a well written character with an interesting story and the rest of the main cast isn't fawning over her.

Also, Fight Club has plenty of flaws but that's a discussion for another time.

I've been playing the XCOM Files. It's a mod for XCOM UFO Defence. You're a newly minted agency and you have to go around investigating paranormal/alien activity and present evidence to Earth Council that there is an alien invasion happening. You also have several cults that have aligned themselves with the aliens and have to investigate/dismantle them too. Amazing mod with an unrivaled amount of content, but doing a single playthrough will take you forever.

From the janny doxxes, it's pretty obvious that they specifically recruited those types and gatekept every somewhat reasonable person out. To avoid being "compromised." This is why none of us should ever go back. It's very clear that the goal of the admins and moderators was demoralizing and engaging in psychological warfare on every anon who was capable of critical thinking that visited the site. The whole team wanted to mindfuck us to the point of being completely ineffective. They failed, and now we all know exactly what they were trying to do to us.

Look at it this way: We've now broken containment. We are free. Our shitposts will spill out into the real world and spread like a virus. They can't stop us. The world will realize that we're not locked in there with them, they are locked in here with US.

a lot of anime people try to recommend that is not goonbait is just like "cool" in the how an 8 year old boy sees cool. Robots fighting, magic, over the top action sequences, and plots that are very over the top.
