At a certain point it went from cathartic to begrudgingly habitual. Everyone's collective opinions or statements, posting habits, lingo, rhetoric and OC got uglier and more retarded over time. People will often say they would come to view or participate in one good thread but fuck, how often did that happen? So much bullshittery on endless boards you could once call home or find common ground on, even if you disagreed with the other guy.

I agree. Trying to start a serious discussion was completely pointless. It was all contrarian and very negative in general. I don't think jannies are to blame for that (not that I'm defending them).

It's sad that a site that once encouraged creativity and originality remained stagnant for so many years in terms of humor and culture.

I wouldn't really blame pol as much as I would blame the mainstream attention that pol got which led into 4chan being taken over by unfunny try hards

My wager on all this would be regular gov is glad 4chan is gone because it was cancer, and higher tier glowies and their ilk are miffed because it was a great containment space to analyze deviants, even if they would regularly eat shit and blowback their own assholes. It also radicalized retarded people which glowies probably liked to an extent, its their bread and butter after all
