To me the new captcha is the nail in the coffin of modern 4chan. Like even if you thought 2024 was even worth using why bother with new captcha system? Are you really so addicted to a garbage website you have to buy a pass?

Slowly, everything good about the old Internet is turning to dust. Each year, an old website I once enjoyed gets a little worse. At least 4chan is still around-- most of my old favorites don't even work anymore. 404's, scam redirects, and broken features are what await us as the enshitification of the internet marches forever onward.

Jeez. My only permaban was when I was ironically pretending to be Barneyfag while not actually being Barneyfag, and my appeal went fine.

Oh and a 28 day once when someone connected to my router (and I am pretty sure I know who it was) was banned for camwhoring. I was really pissed because I would have really liked that chick's nudes.

I thank G*d everyday I left 4chan during peak GG for 8chan. Despite that, it's still sad to see how far it's fallen. Back then it was pretty damn bad, but it's far FAR worse now then in 2014, basically unusable. Getting rid of IP counters is only going to make this even worse since people will blantantly samefag harder. Site really needs to die in my opinion.
The older I get, the more I miss the golden age of the internet and especially the years I had on 8chan before it went to shit. It's strange though that despite imageboard culture being dead to me, the worst aspects of it are still around cranked up to 11.

Addendum: Holy shit, now it's for "ban evasion", with the permaban being attributed to my IP address. The same one that was originally banned for "racism" and that I actually tried to appeal. What a bunch of fucking niggers.

Looks like tranny jannies and troon mods are in full meltdown mode. I got hit with a 3 30 90 180 day ban for "evading" because I got a very rare drop in an online vidya. Original reason was "Proxy/VPN exit node". Now the mod is monitoring the thread 24/7 waiting for me to post literally anything. Shame that airplane mode and cookie deletion cause all his seething to be for naught.

Removing the IP counter is basically them telling you to stop noticing things. Also I am convinced that the 60 sec wait and black dot captcha are an ineffective attempt to combat bots, just googling captcha solver yields a user script that fills it out for you.
