How did /r9k/ become an 'incel board'? I admit I haven't really used /r9k/ before but if if I recalled it was supposed to be just like /b/ (the Random board where back then it was the original meme-generator and shitposting board) but without any spamming or same posts due to the Original Post system.

Incels have infinite excuses for their misanthropic behavior, so naturally they found a home in the Original Post system.

Regression to the mean. I remember early era of the "Gentlemen Robot" /r9k/, when the new board smell was around. But then overtime mundane slice of life posts caught on, which further regressed to a lot of whinny posts about tfw no gf. /r9k/ is what I'd imagine reddit would be like if it was anonymous with no karma system.

I barely go on 4chan anymore because every board is just rampant shitposting that Hiro will do nothing to stop and the mod team is filled with unironic SJWs. Either moot or someone better than Hiro needs to buy the site and fix it or it needs to shut down for good.

I fucking knew it was just one guy, and from the looks of it he's dedicated his entire life to spamming /int/
Soyjaks lost their meaning. It used to be a specific variant of wojak where you use it for (surprise surprise) actual soyboys and bugmen, but now it's just the go-to reaction image when you disagree with someone.

It is now more often used by actual soyboys than anything.

Ok so I had a bad experience on /co/ and I need to rant for a bit.

What made /co/ great were the inappropriate explosions of creativity that followed every new phenomenal cartoon and the adult discussion that followed. Back then, you could make a thread about a new show about a girl and her horse and people would come in to shoot the shit about it because they knew it was only a matter of time before a drawfag posted a picture of the girl sucking off that horse. Even the people who weren’t into that stuff waited for it because they could say "this fucking board, those sick bastards" while shaking their head with a smile afterwards.

The new fucking moralmods went out of their way to sanitize /co/ and turn it into just another cartoon forum. They killed the spirit and wild outlaw character of 4chan on that board. Not only did they exile adult cartoon threads to /aco/ and /trash/, but they followed them there to continue to police them.

One more thing, generals originally were made as a way to contain discussion when shows weren't airing, so that the catalog wasn't filled with 1-5 reply threads for a show that had been discussed to death. When a show was airing you were allowed to just make new threads regarding whatever topic you wanted, so long as it wasn't obviously an active attempt at spam. Now, for whatever reason, /co/ does the exact opposite, stifling discussion and making new popular shows feel unwelcome. Many of those shows end up having to take their threads to /trash/. I miss the chaotic topic spam when a really popular show was airing, it was fun.

Generals are banned from /co/ these days from what I've heard. Mods hate them and only ones that pop up either relate to Toonami, Fox's Animation Domination or RWBY whenever a new season drops. Other than that, expect threads constantly spamming Owl House, Simpsons, fetishes and waifus. Also that one scene from Family Guy with Peter as Bojack Horseman's gotten mighty popular recently for some reason.

Among other things:

  • Spinel threads
  • Steven Universe threads; at least 10 per day
  • Random Barneyfag appearances
  • A Bob's Burgers thread with the copypasta of "All Bob's Burgers threads die after fifteen replies"
  • Amphibia
  • Constant Star Vs. threads
  • The occasional Stonetoss thread that goes off-topic, as intended
  • What was his/her problem?
  • Contrarian bait threads
  • "Barney is way fatter than Homer, but no one gives a shit about him."
There's probably more I'm not thinking of.

The obsessive hatred of generals is absolutely fucking stupid. Yeah, go ban everything people actually want to talk about so much there's always a thread about it. Fucking idiocy.

You're right it was supposed to be /b/ without spam, so after the memes ran out it's denizens started to blogpost about themselves to stay unique, turns out a few of them had some poor lives, their suffering quickly became the focus of the board. Add to that a healthy dose of /pol/ outcasts that ate a ban for posting BLACKED porn to trigger the sexual insecurities there and you get incel central.

I think the hatred of generals is kinda justified. If there's no new content or news from the source for a significant amount of time, eventually people will run out of things to talk about, and when that happens the general quickly devolves into blogposting, waifufagging, and image spam. Also generals sometimes turn into circlejerks or chatrooms for the regular posters who then may start attention whoring. When posters in a general are recognizing and greeting each other at the start of a new thread to the point that some of them have nicknames and the first posts involve blogposting by de-facto general VIPs, that's when you know the faggotry and circlejerking has reached peak intensity.

/ptg/ and (old)/wtg/ on the /g/ board are prime examples of this. in fact /g/ has become so infested with generals that the mods should consider making a /gg/ to let autists and tripfags enthuse about their sekrit tracker klubs and battlestations somewhere where they're not killing funposting threads.

It's not like these people go away if you wreck the general. Now you just have them doing the same shit in every other thread, and now if you want to read about the subject of the general you have to dig through the whole catalog for dumbass threads that might not even have an appropriate picture or title.

On the subject of soyjacks delenda est and why they are so very obnoxious now, I present the following screengrabbed thread. Source: https://boards.4channel.org/his/thread/8069241#p8070347 Scroll down for the dumb.(Relatively speaking I mean, /pol/ bait threads are stupid shit in general, but soyjacks don't help.)

This is the first time I uploaded something here, so let me know if there are any issues.

Holy shit, that was actually a pretty good thread as /his/ goes until some faggot shows up with a folder of autism.

Is this post in support of or against nazism?

I honestly can't tell

Sad isn't it? That faggot who made all those soyjacks has ruined 4chan even further then it already has been. What's worse is that /his/ is one of the more sedate and reasonable boards occasionally.

I'm far too much of a centrist to be any sort of leftwing or rightwing extremist.

Based soyjack chads putting /his/ in its place.
It still hurts...my favorite, slightly more reasonable then the rest of 4chan, shitflinging board, is full of low-effort trolls and spammers now. (:_(
