It's weird man. It's like if you grew up in a shitty slum house in a bad neighborhood with evil landlords, but even after moving out you might sometimes drive by and remember there might have been some good times mixed with the bad. Then one day you drive by and see the house was burned to the ground, and you're told, "Well it sucked so isn't this a good thing?".
Yeah it sucked but it still doesn't really feel great. No choice but to move on I suppose.
I've heard this sentiment a lot in this thread, but I'd really like to know what makes 4chan any worse currently than Xitter, reddit, TikTok, Instagram or any of the other normalfag sites?

Very much so. An old dog that couldnt hunt or play anymore, but who's presence was so familiar it felt somewhat comforting just to see it lying there.

Thinking about it, the beginning of the end was when they started blocking VPN IPs from posting. I'd stopped posting before then, but that's when I remember most of the people I knew who did post also stopped.
I went there time after time, there was nothing for me to post anymore. Maybe i will see classical music I like, but god, when I checked modern day kpg a few months ago, I was honestly horrified at the state. Everywhere else it's just the same shit over and over. One to three schizos screaming into the void of otherwise dead generals or boards.

If you go to your bathroom, write @Null on your forehead, turn off the lights and repeat three times "American Cheese" in front of the mirror, Joshua Connor Moon will step out of the mirror and rape you to death
I tried this once, biggest mistake of my life.

what kind of self-hating retard would moderate that place after this point
look at what it got these other dudes. I'd blow my brains out with much haste if I ever got publicly outed at this level holy shit
if they didn't choke the life out of the website with blatantly biased janny bullshit, all while giving implicit permission to shitposters and spammers to shit up every board on the site, I doubt it would have come to this.
One thing I've learned is that people don't tend to fuck with you unless you fuck around, and jannies are currently finding out

My favorite memory of 4chan is I would start /g/ threads in 2015 talking about 980 owners were smart and how 970 owners were 3.5 cucks. I'd usually go watch a movie and come back to a 300+ reply thread. Good times

"The small dog rapes the 4chan user while the lion eats the FreeBSD disk image", or something.

The Jannies being outed there pretty much sums up the "new" 4chan. It's a bunch of normies pretending to be edgy "anons" while not taking any measures at all to be anonymous. I'd love for someone to find out the behind the scenes of how Jannies are chosen to begin with honestly, because the whole process seems to consistently result in the worst of the worst people becoming the mods.
