that's amazing. I loved all this as it was going down, but once moot sperged and turned off the captcha and post limit on /pol/ that one day, then announced he was leaving shortly after.... I knew that we really might have gone too far. We bullied him off his own site. As much as a faggot moot was I miss that guy and that's just the gosh darn truth. An icon of simpler times I guess.
moot was prepared to blow up 4chan over mid kike pussy, bullying him off was always the correct call even if the end result 10 years later was probably the same.

I think I stopped consistently browsing right around 2017, the last time I really enjoyed the site was when /vr/ was conceptualized because that meant I could actually talk about video games and the threads were so damn slow, I remember one of the earliest threads was a Kirby thread that lasted for months.
I came back to browse the site recently and it was just miserable bait posting and the posting there felt "off", I couldn't tell if it was just bots but I remembered anons complaining of a specific autist blog posting and disguising it as /vr/ discussion.

The only other board I browsed was /mu/ but that board was always pretty shit, when All Lights Fucked was finally leaked, barely anyone on the board gave a shit, I mostly used the board for recommendations and share threads, but I've since moved onto using Soulseek and hunting music for myself.

I won't say good riddance but I won't mourn the death of 4chan.

very curious to know how brown they are.

yup /qa/ was a small 4chan renaissance and I loved it. I first found about it because there was spillover to /tv/ and the posts from the /qa/ guys were always fuckin hilarious so I went to /qa/ then the sharty
Their raids on /mlp/ and /tttt/ were pretty fucking funny

>I do not like 4chan jannies but this is depressing.
>4chan was once one of the best sites on the internet.
>Helped Trump back in 2016, Habbo Hotel pool closed due to aids, helped Russia bomb terrorists in the middle east,
located the Shia la Beuf flag, the original internet discovery of Chris Chan, the origin of many web original projects, anything that ever happened on the internet 4chan was always there with it.
>And it's happening on Holy Week too. We are witnessing the crucifixion of chan culture and any organic human element of the internet.
4chan much of the savor of the old internet is being nailed to the cross like Jesus was for the sins of rot that has taken over our internet.

<REDDIT SPACING
>Fuck wojaks and especially fuck soyjaks. I can't stand the sight of them. They have far outlived their welcome.

fun fact: Ben Garrison made this image at my suggestion. I told him if he stopped yelling at trolls on /pol/ and courted them as allies he'd have a ton of fans. He disagreed with me over email, but the next day he reached out to Fredrick and made Cuck-a-Duck.
So much for refusing to sell 4chan lmao

So now that I’ve had over 24 hours without 4chan I’ve managed to:
  • Get jacked
  • Get a girlfriend
  • Graduate college
  • Get married
  • Become a millionaire
  • Have kids
What about you guys?
For me it's about 2 weeks since I vowed to leave the site for good. Fitting this happens after I leave I suppose
  • My car died
  • My friend is missing
  • Figured out who my real friends are(n't)
So, funnily enough, things have only gotten shitty since I left. But I refuse to go back. I won't be there forever, but I will be here.

I think it went to his head a little bit but would have been fine ultimately. I don't think it was the girl that upset him, rather the ridicule from his own site. Another reason, and perhaps the real reason is that he saw that 4chan was going to be used in increasingly twisted social engineering and decided to get out since he wouldn't have been able to stop it. Just my theory there.

me? I only got even MORE mad
I'm stuck on an eceleb board with everyone being an avatarfag and I can't say anything retarded without it being recorded on my profile
I hate it. HATE

cool website though, no offense :)

there absolutely was a gradual decline across the entire site in terms of the OC it delivered, and therefor how entertaining 4chan was, and I have a hard time believing anyone who says otherwise
but you are right that it was systemic to the decline of the internet in general. The idea of building a personal brand became paramount, so most people who did want to create content didn't want to publish it anonymously anymore
The internet as a whole has gotten much lamer and gayer for a variety of reasons.
Internet users have gotten older and less interesting on average. Most 37 year olds produce less OC and amusingly deranged posts than 21 year olds.
People don't want to post OC unless it's going to increase their follower account on twitter or their clout in a discord channel or their upvotes on reddit.
AI slop exists and for every high effort contribution some jeet is going to post some generated dogshit.

This is true of every part of the internet. You can say 4chan has gotten worse, but can you really say it's gotten worse faster than the alternatives?

He removed captcha for three days as "revenge", turning /pol/ into a totally unusable shithole. Moot became a massive fag. Good riddance.
That was one of the funniest things he had done in years, fuck the cancerous shitheap that is /pol/. Not only did he disable the captcha, he removed the post cooldown, made every post doubles, fucked with fonts, put filters on their favorite buzzwords, and a myriad of other things that I don't remember.
