/co/ is bad, but /tv/ is even worse. So many pedos obsessing over real-life child celebrities over there. Though I admittedly haven't browsed the board in years, hopefully it's gotten better jannies since then.

/tv/ really doesn't have a pedo infestation like it did a couple years back. They do, however, have dogshit taste in movies and most of the thread OPs purposely bait off-topic discussion.

Honestly, /a/ seems to have cooled down a bit on the loli fetish last I checked (though I could be wrong). While /co/ doubled down HARD on it. It astonishes me how despite /pol/ and its ilk get constantly fucked over by the mods, that /co/ can go on about its pedophiliac ways and not get any scrutiny by them.

I mean don't get me wrong, /pol/, /v/, /b/ and even /r9k/ and /tv/ are still irredeemable piles of shit, but the fact that more people seem to ignore /co/ the way they do raises quite a bit of concern.
The jannies probably come from /co/ so it gets special treatment.

Controversial take as bad as /pol/ /b/ /v/ and the hell of /b/ are they don’t hold a candle to the incomprehensible shitness of /co/. At least pol boards serve their purpose and /b/ has been dead from cancer for years, but /co/ is literally filled with the worst autists who have been rejected from /b/ and are the biggest degenerates who butch about cartoons and have fetish under the sun without being remotely funny about it. Even weebs and most of /v/ hate /co/. The place is a breeding ground for the worst faggotry and cows and its userbase is annoying even for 4chan standards. That should say enough.

/co/ used to be somewhat decent and quite a creative force, but it somehow became a sanctuary for SJWs escaping from the Great Tumblr Porn Purge, and things just went further down from there. In fact, all boards connected to nerd hobbies saw a sharp decline in quality since the mid-2010s, at differing rates, which has slowly spread to unrelated boards. I honestly, unironically blame GamerGate; it brought too much external attention, which used to be focused on /b/'s shenanigans, to the rest of the site. Add shitty and adversarial (if not outright sabotaging) jannies on top of that, and it's not hard to see why things are going south quickly.

I consider /vt/ as one of the worst boards because it's a parallel universe where consoomer NPCs took over.
Half the board is comprised of proud /r/hololive redditors, and the other half is 4redditors who pizza each others' threads over holo/niji console war autism, because it's impossible to criticize something without being in the other tribe.
Its main population is schizophrenic SEAmonkeys whose national sport is accusing each other of being chinese shills, and the tranny jannies who run the board refuse to clean up anything that isn't this incredibly unflattering picture.
/vt/ also has a scat thread, a futa thread, and a fat thread so it's got /co/ fetishes covered too.

I tried to use /jp/ for a while because of their threads on Japanese music, it's easily one of the worst boards I've ever been on. It's so full of porn and lolicons I just stopped going. It was really bad before the VTuber cancer was kicked off to /vt/, as /jp/ was the kind of slow board that threads would stay up on for a month and VTubers pushed them all off.
Almost every general or recurring thread on the site eventually gets one guy who takes being a threadshitter so seriously it's like their job and jannies legitimately don't care about quality as long as it doesn't break any of the big rules too hard.

I only ever visit 4chan these days when a game or something comes out that nobody else is talking much about.

/pol/ and /v/ get tougher scrutiny because they're the breadwinners for the site and because they center around subjects that are culturally relevant. Nobody cares about comics or cartoons except pedo neckbeards and the trannies they orbit; both industries have been tanking the entire last decade and have become synonymous with gross NPC consoomer culture that just makes shit for propaganda purposes. The /co/mblr stereotype has been stuck with them since their inception, and only in recent years have they confirmed that they are in fact populated exclusively by fat rainbow-haired cows.

I've said for years that /co/ could get deleted tomorrow with little to no outcry whereas a /pol/ deletion would be met with continual spergery across all other boards.

Speaking of /pol/, has there ever been another web forum responsible for gravitating the greater internet towards embracing political autism so fervently? I know stuff like /new/ and stormfront existing way back when, but they seem like afterthoughts after a decade.

Only other site I can think of is Reddit and its numerous boards of political sperging and conspiracies. Which are basically just /pol/, but 10 times worse. But I don't know when that site started to gain that much relevancy.

But thing is, you could apply what you said about /co/ to /v/, just on a lesser scale. Though honestly, if Hiromoot got rid of every board but those two, I don't think anyone would complain = /a/ and /co/ (and their spinoffs) are filled with pedos, the other media boards are hyper spergy as fuck, /int/, /his/, /fit/, /k/, and /x/ are just /pol/ but lamer, /b/ and /3/ are fucking dead, /trash/ is well... trash, /r9k/ is depressing to go through, and /ic/ is full of people huffing their own farts (among other boards that are increasingly getting more and more irrelevant as time passes because all those topics tend to be discussed on those other boards I mentioned).

I think it's just because they move fast as fuck compared to most of the boards, so they need more jannies to keep an eye on things. What I wanna know is why the moderation is so wildly inconsistent. One minute you have blatantly rule-breaking threads staying up until the bump limit hits and they get archived, the next minute you catch a ban for making a mildly shitposty reply. There's no discernable pattern to it.

In terms of /co/, certain mods are known to police specific threads while outright ignoring the catalog. Toonami General is a prime example since you're likely to see numerous posts get wiped during the pregame hours where everyone is just bullshitting with one another before the show starts. They try and justify it with it being "off-topic," but it's very shallow considering the general threads have existed for 10+ years, determined to be /co/-related by m00t, and only happening once a week late at night while not generating a significant amount of attention.

Also, mods are headline readers who won't investigate any thread if the OP looks to be inoffensive, hence the trend of trolls making fake OP posts to get a thread going and then dumping whatever gore/sneed/porn they want.

The blue boards are in a tough spot because their users have aged from teenagers to quarter-aged adults and have realized either through /pol/ exposure or by their own experience that the hobbies these blue board revolve around are fully devoid of soul and have next to no chance of returning to any sort of decency. Say what you will about politics and video games, but they are the hottest things going on right now and have shown no sign of trailing off in the immediate future. Everything else on the other hand has been doing the same shit for 30 years and are now suffering the consequences of kicking the can down the road.

I like using /co/ as an example because they were pretty prolific at the beginning of last decade, full of OC and creators and people actually discussing comics and cartoons. At the same time, the comics industry still had a semblance of credibility, with DC's New 52 reboot and Marvel's burgeoning MCU still in its novelty phase. However, after a decade of embracing cancerous trends and a plethora of bad creative/financial decisions, the comics industry is now a glorified laughing stock being outsold by dumb shounen manga on a routine basis. It affected /co/ just as much; oldfags left in droves, gatekeeping became less important, OC was shadowbanned for some reason, mods and jannies were revealed to be corrupt, and so forth. They whined about /pol/ for years and years while subconsciously subscribing to /pol/'s rhetoric that everyone is a shill or a tranny and that Blackrock is making Disney jump through virtue signalling hoops for capital. If anyone gave a shit about comics or cartoons anymore, you wouldn't see a /co/ catalog being 80% derivative coomer threads.

Another thing: the more traffic a blue board loses increases the likelihood of the board being hijacked by a select few autistic posters who will make the same meme thread every hour of every day in hopes of becoming part of 4chan history.
-Is coffee good for you?
-Would lifting have saved him?
-For me, it's __________
-HOLY CRAP LOIS
-What did he mean by this?
And so on.

Mods are incompetent. Simple as.

Why do these people constantly delude themselves into believing in the Just World Fallacy? Why do they worship society and believe it can do no wrong, ever? It's as if they think human beings are all machines with perfect perception that never varies from each other.

You can NEVER be socially ostracized because you're a "dickhead".

They use deceptively informal language because it makes them sound like they are stating an obvious fact when in reality they are spouting unfounded assumptions and complete lies. They don't even consider the fucking possibility that, well, people could be wrong

One of the resident schizos on /wsg/ keeps dumping his folder of Owen Benjamin tier arguments to own the round earth shills and their heliocentric worldview.
