I mean I've seen some foul shit in my time in terms of gore/ self-harm/ weird japanese doujin spammed in a thread. I view a danger of the Internet seeing shit I don't like and possibly hate from the core of my being. Pedophiles have been organizing online since the first college lit professor could talk to another about Lolita over the shittiest possible connection. Report them to site admins and mods, if that doesn't work call the cops.
4chan isn't particularly full of pedos, it just has the unhinged ones who will try to get validation thinking they are in a safe space.

You are also bringing up /pol/, which is the most brigaded board on 4chan, and /r9k/, which was literally a tranny breeding ground and had multiple tranny discords running ops on it. /pol/ has hated black people since the ZimZam trial where people were amazed at the media's lies and how awful the "black community" is. It's a vitriolic chamber of autists saying shit they can't say in polite society.

I honestly just hate how /pol/ shit leaks out of /pol/ into other boards. You can't JUST discuss music on /mu/, or games on /v/, or even cooking on /ck/.

It HAS to be made political. Somehow. Always. It's annoying.

It's either this, or the BBCspammers. I don't know which is worse. I lean towards the /pol/ leakage since I assume that the BBCspammers are just the same five people across the website who have nothing better to do than to spam that bullshit.

I think the site was in a downward trend for many years but the 2016 election hastened whatever was happening. There's too many people who have never moved on from the election cycle of that year, and the years intervening (2020 especially) has only exacerbated the problem. But, yeah, everything becomes political, and you can't go a thread without some loser talking about Jews or niggers on a thread on /out/ or /ck/. It's all so tiresome.

Also, as an aside, I would like to say that my personal belief of /pol/'s, and to the lesser extent the entire site's, obsession with Reddit comes from all the election tourists who got kicked off of r/the_donald and never quite got over it. I remember there being a degree of animosity with Reddit and tumblr but I don't recall it ever being so commonplace until that happened. Same with the whole "reddit spacing" thing.
