I remember browsing /r/ and seeing a request for a link to Daisy's Destruction, the post had been up for an hour. Reported it, took another 20 mins for it to be deleted. Not gonna try to find it in an archive, I prefer to not be on a list. Seems like these "4chan moments" you speak of are pretty common. I wonder why?

Merge all the porn boards onto one single board called /xxx/ - Erotica. If the backlash from this isn't severe, then I will hide this board and /trash/ so they can only be accessed via url.
Next, ban all generals and botposts off of /b/. It should be a random board, not the same 5 thread generals over and over for all eternity board.
All forms of NSFW, including softcore porn, will be moved to /xxx/. If you want porn, you go there, there is no need to clutter up every other board. Loli porn is b& from every single board, including /trash/ and /xxx/.

If you're posting porn in the context of a thread (for example, a screenshot of some faggot's Twitter account and it has porn on it) just spoiler the image and move on, it shouldn't be difficult.

I checked /b/ for the first time in almost 10 years, and my god it's quite literally ALL porn(with the exception of some AI slop threads, a couple that are seething about Donald Trump for whatever reason, and some r9k tier blogposts). It's crazy that the board has been on this coomer life support for longer than it was an "ocean of piss" people remember fondly.
Checking some other boards I used to frequent, not much better. Garbage site with garbage people and no meaningful content. Makes me wonder what kind of subhuman discord using porn addicted niggers frequent the site day to day now, and how fucked in the head one would have to be to willingly call itself an "oldfag": That would imply that you have no problem with how the site is ran now if you're sticking with it, and yet you demand respect for wasting your life there longer than someone else(never mind that most people with opinions and skills worth a damn moved on to 8chan, something that still seems to trigger some of the mainstays on 4chan today)

Want to meet people? /soc/ already exists. Want to organize a raid? You can't and will be permabanned if you try. What is the point anymore? The board literally offers nothing unique. It's obsolete.

It's extremely depressing to watch what used to be referred to as the "final boss of the internet" reduced to a discount porn board.

HWNDU was deep into 4chan's decline. That was when e-celebs were trying to claim 4chan identity and get on webcam live feeds. It was the opposite of what 4chan used to be and they didn't even knock over a post card stand while they did it.

I don't think that 4chan went to shit due to pedos or anything, although that probably helped to turn it into the sad state that it's in. Mostly I just think that its former status died because it got too big and well known, and its reputation as the den of edgelords attracted too many retards. Porn (especially in OPs to attract attention,) which has been mentioned a lot in this thread as of late is another big one too. 4chan went from being that weird site that maybe a few kids you knew in high school were aware of to a site where people were making Youtube videos reading off copypastas and the dreaded "The Scariest/Most Toxic Site on the Internet" style video essays or tweeting out screenshots of them to the tune of hundreds of thousands of views.

The other thing, which I don't see mentioned much, is that the average internet user in the last few decades has changed radically. Not just in terms of demographics or smart phone usage, but what people want out of the internet and a site like 4chan. People view imageboard content as very temporary (which has always been the case) but I think that now people mostly just want to shitpost even more and don't even care to engage with anything meaningful. A few reasons for that would be to ask the question: why would anyone bother to write up a 1000+ character reply if a tranny janny is going to 404 the thread or if the thread is going to go unanswered anyways because there's a dozen coom threads being made every second and half the OPs don't even reply to their own threads?

At least on a site like this one I'll know that the post I'm writing now is likely to still be here in an hour and even if no one replies directly to it someone might give it a sticker (that's the good thing about them, not the score but the knowledge that at least one person read it and the ability to judge it based on the person giving it.) At least here I'm confident that a tranny janny isn't going to nuke it because reasons or that the forum's going to be flooded by bots and people making a hundred new threads. On 4chan you could provide the cure to cancer with a post and it's probably just going to be drowned out by a dozen new threads with a Pepe or a Wojack in the OP, or just picture of big_titty_instathot.jpg.

For 4chan just look at how bad moderation and spam has gotten, and how much worse the userbase has gotten because its reputation attracted retards and people who don't care about the site, they just know they can be retarded and it won't be attached to anything like most social media. Mods will delete stuff on a whim, often for illogical reasons while keeping up absolute bullshit. Certain boards like /biz/ are just overrun by shills because every scammer and Indian with a phone thinks that 4chan is going to pump their shitcoin to the moon. /pol/ is absolutely both overrun by actual speds and is compromised as it legitimately did move the online political needle at one point. Even baiting people isn't even like it used to be where it was a mix of fucking with other parts of the internet or being clever; now it's just being retarded and/or cuckposting or whatever else. 4chan doesn't even qualify as a lunatic asylum, it's just the special education room in a school at this point.
