The dumbest answer to "Why has 4chan gotten worse?" has always been "It has politics I don't like."
The real answer is the same as for everywhere else online: the Internet went from a place for high-IQ white & asian nerds, to a place for low-IQ brown people. You don't need to seek out a more complex or interesting answer.

Who the fuck is Jenny?
A tranny from /tttt/ who hates /a/ and /m/, likes spamming and baiting on these boards to waste people's time, and acts like "trolling" these boards on the evil deepweb oldinternet hacker site 4chan is a major accomplishment. He constantly brags about doing scanlations, but he never finishes them. In scanlation Discords, he constantly turns conversations back to himself (despite claiming not to like attention), ghosts groups when he doesn't want to finish projects, is an unrepentant yurifag, and only dates black men because he has a BBC fetish. It's sad that people like him are the closest thing we have now to the genuinely entertaining old namefags you'd love to hate like Clawshrimpy, Codename:V, and VF-kun.

It isn't the politics, it's the reddit. Redditors who came over after thedonald got banned were just as shit as the troon redditors who took over the mod team. A major difference is the mod team is, you know, the mod team. The Trumptards were annoying, but the mod team runs the place (at least when they are not jerking off to CP).

Is there any validity to the “It’s da /pol//stormfags/chuds that killed 4chan” theory or is it just leftypoltroon cope? I say this because whenever Jewtube recommends me a heckin nostalgic 2000s 4chan video, the comment section includes supposed oldfags who complain about how /pol/ and politics ruined 4chan, and I don’t really get it because I thought that it was the jannies and Moot cucking at the end of his reign that killed 4chan.

Edit: I just remembered that I’ve also seen people say something to the effect of “/pol/ was le hecking satire before stupid fucking chuds ruined it and made the racism unironic” a few times. Is this true?
Kind of. I remember /pol/ constantly spilling out of it's board into other boards and threads somewhere in the very early-mid 10s. Ironically nowadays it's one of the boards that kinda still has that old 4chan irreverent spirit.

I've always said it was that millennial oldfags were cut from a different kind of cloth that doesn't exist anymore. The vast majority of 4chan's contemporaries and predecessors don't exist anymore nor does the framework for them to exist anymore. The internet should have stayed 56k.

No, it's the smartphones. Apple and Steve Jobs ruined the internet with the stupid iPhone, that never needed to be a thing.

I've been on 4chan since 2005, and you're essentially correct. 4channers in those days were a chaotic and creative bunch. /b/ was an extremely entertaining board back then. Once zoomers and third worlders started piling in, the post and meme quality tanked. The current generation of 4channers are morose and tend to lack creativity.

/b/ is a grey husk of its former self. There's no creativity or fun there. It has essentially become a porn board. I know many seasoned oldfags migrated to /new/ and then /pol/ for a while, but that was relatively short-lived.

Speaking of /pol/ specifically, the last hurrah of that board was the George Zimmerman trial in 2013. The threads regarding that subject were extremely entertaining. The threads regarding the manhunt of Christopher Dorner that same year were also a lot of fun. However, /pol/ has been a malignantly useless board since at least 2015. The 2016 election sealed its fate. 99% of the posts on /pol/ at any given time are nothing but noise.

I don't use 4chan much anymore. I check /k/ and /x/ mostly, and sometimes /tv/. However, those boards are mostly just low IQ drivel now, too. Very rarely does a thread catch my attention. On /k/, I'll check /arg/ and /gq/, but there is rarely any decent discussion. /x/ is 95% garbage threads, but sometimes there are gems. There's a really fun Halloween General every year on /x/, and I frequently steer those threads by creating OPs and posting new content. /tv/ does have an ongoing horror movie general most of the time now, and it's a good time occasionally.

I've been returning to old school forums for online discussion. There tends to be better moderation and higher post quality. Even certain subreddits dedicated to my interests have better discussion and content than 4chan. That's probably the most damning indictment of 4chan I can think of.

Any burst of brilliance after HWNDU were ruined by tranny jannies. Like the Right Wing Safety Squad (SS or RWSS) threads, which was a movement to contact local fire marshals to shut down communist and antifa flophouses because they were legitimate public safety hazards. It was full of users infiltrating squalid commie shitholes, probably humming Metal Gear background game music to themselves the entire time, and documenting code violations to share on the Internet to shitpost about and package up as evidence to compel local authorities to take action. The second it had any success, and commies started racking up code violations, the jannies started banning any mention of it. They want that board to be aimless infighting and bots spamming cuck porn.

How the heck is a board for foamers srs bsns on the level of /pol/?
/n/ went through multiple changes, it was once a board dedicated to news and thus the de-facto political board of the site.

2005: Introduction of /n/ - Nature & Wildlife.
2006: Change to /n/ - News, with /an/ overtaking the old function.
2008: Change to /n/ - Transportation after old /n/ became too racist for moot's liking. moot also shut the textboards down because of racism, but that was a bit later, I think.

There was also supposedly a short-lived board called /r/ - Trains that was used for testing Futallaby in the very early days, which supposedly inspired the creation of 1chan, but I don't know if that's just an old 1chan myth.

Even back then /n/ closing wasn't a purely moot decision, it was prototranny jannies like that Foone weirdo brigading him to get it removed only for it to turn out to be a unilaterally stupid decision which resulted in /pol/ being made.

This is precisely why 8chan's /pol/ was superior, if they moved the operation over there they could have continued onwards until the site shutdown. I remember that there was pizzagate research still going strong after everyone on 4chan forgot about it, you could genuinely get shit done on that board. Shame that's all memoryholed by now, probably, unless someone screenshoted those threads.
The loss of 8/pol/ was the biggest tragedy in the entire 8chan shutdown fiasco, I could take or leave every other board but you will simply not recreate 8/pol/ in today's climate.

I disagree that the board became useless since 2015(even tho it's peak was definitely Zimmerman trial and Dorner manhunt). You could still get some nice threads going until about later 2010s, like I said earlier, and then you had the happenings like Tarrant, various chimpouts, police scanner threads are always good, and even more recently the Canadian Trucker threads or "It's Okay To Be White" ops were pretty good. Early election content, I would say late 2015-early 2016 was also great, that was before retards from reddit came over and treated the whole thing as srz business and it was merely Kek shitposting and trying to ruin the most important election of the year for the lulz. These days, there is too many genuine schizos for there to be any fun and mods like to censor anything they don't like so you're not going to have threads that are too informative, but that could be said for every board on the 'cuck now. Checking the catalog once in a while to get the news is about the most use you can get out of modern day /pol/, rather than posting there.
I do agree with everything else you said, tho.

The Shia He Will Nut Inside Us thing was pretty hilarious.

police scanner threads are always good
Sometimes I'll pull up /pol/ and see a high speed chase thread. Those can be fun.

There are still occasionally really good threads for certain events. The Kyle Rittenhouse trial threads were pretty great whenever I checked them. It can still be a fun board at times, but it's just so full of retards, shills, spammers and bad moderation that it's difficult to have good threads. Other boards have similar problems to some extent, but it's like the problems are turned up to 11 on /pol/.

There's also the issue of surveillance. Considering the history and reputation /pol/ (and 4chan in general) has, it's not unreasonable to believe that Hiroyuki Nishimura (and moot before him) works very closely with federal law enforcement agencies. Every poster may be called "Anonymous," but all the data that the feds are constantly collecting from 4chan is anything but. It's difficult to blame any anon who stopped posting because "glowies run the site now."

To be fair, what major website isn’t run by the feds on some level nowadays?

Besides the Farms, I mean

So basically vtuberniggers? They're more omnipresent than glowies on imageboards.

anyone here know what the hell is up with the "'ick on 'eck" anon?
EDIT: never mind.
holy sheeeit. I sorta remember /cumg/ and I am aware of some script to show alternative images but I did not know how deep down the unironic full blown danger to society pedo rabbithole these guys are. porn addicted coomers are just as responsible for the downfall of 4chan as the other groups.

as a side note, if the feds can pick up guys from /pol/ for saying dumb off the cuff statements like "grrr me gonna kill a cop", why can't they do something about the potential child rapist trannies? or is saying "me wanna fuck a child" protected under american free speech?
