Taking an image from another thread and making an on topic thread about it seems a very weird way to spam. I've done that on many boards in the past. If I saw a cool GM and wanted to talk about GMs because of the image I would take it.

If he's making on topic posts and anons spam them with actual spam posts you can understand why the jannies work with the slide poster. I guess I've been away from 4chan for too long. I don't understand how any of this works. When spam is on topic threads I don't know what spam is any more.
People are mad because this is a guy who has been plaguing the board for over a decade to the extent that people have made several different nicknames for him based on his spam waves: Valvrager (the nickname from which names like "Duelrager" and "Zetarager" derive), Felcher-kun, Ryviusrager, Active Raid rager, Planet With rager, and so forth. Also, with his return to EvaGeeks, he's a proven liar throughout all those years he's been saying "Duel is dead" or "Duel isn't real, 'Duel' is just a boogeyman used by trolls to target unpopular opinions". At this point, like I said, the current way of dealing with him (banning him so he can seethe on Desuarchive for a few days before he cries in the IRC to get unbanned) clearly isn't eliminating his spam -- this is a guy who begged to get unbanned from a dead forum 12 years later and considers 4chan his hobby. The only way to deal with him is to hash ban all his known spam images and wordfilter all his spam phrases, and if he wants to contribute constructively, he's perfectly welcome to.
At least you don't get banned for simply talking about other spammers like the jannies would do for him because they were his friend.
It's theorized that he went to /m/ in the first place because he was friends with the janitor at one point, plus jannies have been caught sweeping for him recently (banning people who report his spam, etc).

If the console has the inbuilt ability to connect to the internet without some weird expensive sattelite peripheral that only worked for a limited time, you cannot make me call it "retro".
I guess I've been away from 4chan for too long. I don't understand how any of this works. When spam is on topic threads I don't know what spam is any more.
Here's how it usually happens:
  1. A thread or topic is spammed, falseflagged in, or otherwise shat up by a dedicated poster (or small circle of dedicated posters). This part isn't actually even necessary, but the schizo boogeyman often was real in the beginning, at least in my experience.
  2. People wise up to this and begin calling said poster out, noting his usual tactics and commonalities in his posts so that said posts can be ignored and/or reported. This step is accelerated if the spammer ever gets IP wiped and large amounts of posts in the thread ostensibly made by different posters are revealed to all be from the same IP.
  3. As awareness of this poster increases, posters start to get carried away and/or less intelligent posters become aware of it. People start getting accused of being the boogeyman for merely sharing the same opinion as him on a particular topic, even if their posts are constructive and non-argumentative. If the spammer is still around, they often join in on this themselves, though for the most part it's done sincerely. It should be again noted that they might not have even existed to begin with, in some cases.
  4. The brainrot starts really setting in. People start falseflagging as the schizo (who might not even be present anymore) while still sincerely believing that every other supposed instance of this schizo is real. In their minds, they're just fucking with the schizo by "making him look bad" in order to cause a real freakout, or "evening the playing field" by making the schizo more "obvious" to counteract too many of his posts "flying under the radar" (aka nobody believes their random accusations of innocuous posts being made by the schizo). Falseflagging and ironic/mocking schizoposts usually start to outnumber the real schizoposts by now if they haven't already, and the original schizo/spammer/boogeyman might actually have left by this point, meaning the torch is now entirely carried by people claiming to hate the spam. This can last for years.
  5. New posters who weren't even there for the original spam start posting as the schizo, whether it's someone who hates the thread/topic "joining in on the fun" (rare), or sincere posters in the thread with a shitposting streak deciding to let off a little steam, or maybe try and get the schizo associated with some opinion they don't like.
In my opinion, this phenomenon has started to eclipse actual dedicated schizoposters in terms of how much they shit up threads and make discussion impossible. You see behind the curtain and realize how retarded most of the boogeyman shit is when you get called half a dozen schizos in the span of a month, sometimes in threads you've never even used before. It's especially common in general threads, or threads/boards that see large amounts of new (and often underage) users coming in just for that one board and not acclimating to the wider culture of the site, such as /vp/ or /pol/. You can also see many examples on /v/ if you go into the wrong thread and dare to express the opinion that some retard newfag's favorite game is "Okay I guess, but nothing special, I still enjoyed it though... 7.5/10" instead of the best thing ever.

Sometimes people try to speedrun making up a fake schizo by making fake discord screencaps of some supposed server they "infiltrated" dedicated to promoting an opinion they don't like, or they'll spam a thread with some really obvious amateur too-on-the-nose falseflagging as some type of poster they don't like, then screencap their own posts to pass around as "proof" of the schizo. They might even make it up in the middle of an argument they feel like they're losing, falseflagging as a nonexistent guy who disagrees with them and making him sound very deranged so he looks bad, while spouting some nonsensical strawman argument of what he thinks that other side believes and exposing himself in the process.

I can't speak to the /m/ guy and whether or not this applies there because I don't really use that board, but seeing a general thread marked as a slide thread actually made by a spammer certainly raised an eyebrow.

This is why I don't post on 4chan any more. It's hard to find a thread that doesn't derail into this kind of thing. You can see it in this general as well, where everyone has to validate their Anonymous identity by finding someone to invalidate. It's fucking gay.
I'm sure that was a typo, I didn't make that graphic.
Why post it then? It's schizo posting if you're not the one making the image and saying why you think those threads are what's labeled. Magician's post is well put together and explains a lot of 4chan's issues. Calling legit threads slide threads is part of the schizo cycle and discourages anons from posting in interesting topics because they're labeled bad for meta reasons.

The Barzam thread being bumped so it stays on board isn't bad. Barzam is great and a Barzam general would improve any board.

I was already mostly gone and then they adopted that absolutely shitty captcha which was the final straw. I believe there's some kind of plugin to solve it but I don't care any more.

That and you cannot post anonymously with TOR or VPN except for lurking around.
I've been able to do so, but it is not worth it anymore. Good VPNs that slip by the 'cuck are getting harder to come by, might as well use the time trying to make posts there doing something else. This is why I only post on a limited selections of generals on the site, nothing else there interests me.

I always wondered what people considered a slide thread because I never saw one. If your definition is what everyone else is using then no wonder 4chan is fucked. A guy says "I like GMs, what other series have GM like mecha?" and you call it a slide thread. There's some spam there but a lot of what you're marking is valid content and has been since the early days of /m/. There is some garbage but you're upset over people asking for mecha recommendations on a mecha board. And you think people are trying to slide threads off a board as slow as /m/? There's trolling on there, some porn threads and annoying spam but you can't tell the difference between a standard thread starter and spam.
An old aspect of imageboards was the necessity to be there to know what was going on. The archives have removed this requirement for many boards, but noticing this kind of behaviour still requires being there. One learns to recognize the sliding by looking at the dynamic state of the board, and noticing what kinds of topics are routinely pushed off by new threads after everything else is bumped. It's not hard to figure out what kind of threads are being made at that point.

Anyway, this is a horrible waste of time, and the fact that I'm not even talking about /m/, but an entirely different board, shows just how fucked 4chan is. Some stupid autist declares himself petty dictator, and no one with actual power stops him in his crusade against whatever the fuck his obsession is.

Speaking of infamous /m/ shitposters, did anyone ever get the bottom of the groeningfag guy who would respond to every single Simpsons reaction image with a sage and "GTFO." I don't think anyone ever got a rationale from him. If I'm not mistaken he pre-dated even the barneyfag. Even on a slow board like /m/ it was impressive how omnipresent and prompt he managed to be. I stopped using /m/ regularly around 2015 or so and I think he was gone by then, but he was around for a long ass time.

I got a two week ban for banned text. I tried to link to a KF thread. Can somebody check if linking to kiwifarms.st is actually an instant two week ban? There's no way 4chan has fallen that far.

I have a hard time believing the troonigger jannies running the site now would be so bold.

Pretty sure it's been banned text for years.

I can't even post kiwifarms links there, it won't let me. Same with archive.is links, which tells you all you need to know about the site.
I do know that we trigger cuckchanners like no tomorrow, and there is quite a few newfags there who do actually think that even talking about the site or claiming you're from there by itself is a ban worthy offense. Not much more to be said here, the only people who rage this much about the farms are those who are likely to have threads about them made here or already have them, speaks volumes that the whole site's population now fits this criteria.

There's been a massive change in the moderation of the site over the last few years. If the jannies don't outright ban you they often just instantly archive threads they don't like.

Classic threads like sneed threads on /tv/ or baiting some banned book like the turner diaries on /lit/ don't fit the culture of the site now, even if you thought those threads were retarded, but what the fuck else is 4chan besides trolling and memeing? It's undergone a complete and total soyllennial redditization.

It's no wonder sharty has eaten 4chan's lunch in meme creation.

After sleepy joe dropped out I checked /pol/ and it was clear literal shills for the DNC are active there.

Ideally you want a site culture that becomes unshillable because the paid shills would file lawsuits from what they are interacting with.

Like this site can't be shilled on because some troon shill would file a lawsuit claming they were exposed to anti-troon materials lol.

Better than the slow fading images of busses
as mentioned before, there is a script to bypass the captcha and a dedicated app to use with kurobaex if you're a filthy phoneposter like me.
the new captcha is a genuine blessing nevermind the fact that it makes botting the site easier coupled with the recent removal of IPs counter..
