New sticky on /pol/:

they are increasing the wait time to post to 15 minutes unless you verify your email or have a 4tran pass.
I said when they rolled this out on /biz/ that they were going to do this across the website. The datamining and wrenching blood from stones must continue. I assume that gookmoot is placing on divesting or foisting 4chan off and is trying to get as much as possible from the website before he pawns it off to someone else to make it his problem. All of this "anti-spam" shit is nonsense because they know who the spammers are, they know who the schizos who shit up the boards are. Removing the IP Counter is proof enough that they are not interested in solving the problem and are, rather, trying to consolidate posting to only the spammers. I'm sure they have internal metrics that most people who use 4chan post very little and are mostly lurkers, and so it's more about cultivating a fake "discussion" than anything else.

This is going to every board on the website, then it'll go to 4chan Pass or email verification only (no 15 minute wait timer), and then gookmoot is going to step down from leadership by this time next year.

Ip count was always useless the fuck are you retards on about, it only filtered the biggests retards or the shills who didn't know any better, the id's and flags were always the better anti shill/schizo defence
For /pol/ sure, for every other board without poster ids, it was pretty useful in determining if a lunatic is talking to himself.

/vt/ just got their sticky. Looks like the mods are implementing this each day while going down the list of most active boards. Going by 4stats it looks like /int/ (or /b/) will be next.

I swear that's the same dude that did accelerator spam on /a/ in 2011. kek

I actually I came here when this first began and I just never made an account because I've always considered it a honeypot of the worst kind.
I mean it's ran by a literal CIA agent.
Then again so is 4chan so I guess what's the diff amirite?
Because only glowniggers run the internet nowadays, the rest get murdered.
Lurk moar

It's going to be hilarious to see smaller boards actually die out. Nobody will want to talk to the 2-3 remaining people on those niche boards when you have to wait 15 minutes to do so, that's enough time to make a reddit account and see if you can find something more interesting there. There is nothing on 4chan that you can't find elsewhere, nothing worth the timers and the schizos anyways. Real niche stuff might just move to discord servers, if need be.
I knew this would happen when the rollout on /biz/ started, it is still funny to see jannies actually going thru with it. In the olden days, they would be eaten alive for it, but I guess they don't have to worry about anything from their current userbase.

Are you implying that the only people on niche boards are people who IP hop like lunatics or did you somehow miss the part where the 15 minute wait is only for the first time you post from an IP+cookie combo?

What I am saying is that nobody is going to bother waiting 15 minutes to post on 2024 4chan. I thought that was pretty clear.
60 second timer was bad enough, ironically enough only the schizos and no-lifes are capable of waiting 15 minutes at a time, several times a day if need be, since they have nothing better to do. For everyone else, there is likely better places to discuss your topic in that timeframe.

This is so perversely stupid it's hard not to consider they're actually just maliciously destroying 4chan entirely. The only people who will put up with this shit are cucks, schizos and degenerates who literally would be thrown off anywhere else on the Internet, even here.

There's absolutely no good reason to get rid of IP count either. Even if it's absolutely feeble, it was literally the only way to get even a hint of how spammy/samefag a thread was without at least wasting some time scrolling down it.

I'd already pretty much permanently noped out of ever posting there thanks to the shit captcha. It wasn't even worth installing an auto solver over. And I'm certainly not going to turn off a VPN just for 4cucks. While I've never really done shit like massive fedposting there or like threatening Sheriff Shitwood, it's just not even worth flipping a switch and solving a massively annoying captcha to post on a thread that is a total sewer anyway.

And for this they got, at best, a couple weeks of slightly fewer low IQ morons who couldn't solve it, until they figured it out too.

Totally agree. I think the theory of the site being ruined for a potential sellout might have some legs. Either that, or the trannies might just be doing this for their own perverse pleasure, not like they actually like the site they're moderating so "owning the chuds" might actually be the ultimate goal here.
In either case, as I said, nobody with anything worthwhile to say is going to use 4chan anymore. This is just the final filter to discourage the last few good posters from setting foot in there again.

The thing that the 15-minute timer apologists aren't considering is that it will entice the mods to be even more punitive than they're already. It's already a lottery whether you get a ban for wrongthink or not, and with this new measure those bloodthirsty faggots who are moderating the place will be licking their chops to clamp down on wrongthinkers even more. Actual spam (the thing the timer is supposed to combat) rarely gets punished, the spammers still spam, it's only the normal anons who just want to express their views candidly the ones who will suffer from this. It feels like they're trying to drive away all the free-thinkers and just have a legion of redditor drones, indians and bots to control the narrative. Every single mod and janny there is a leftist faggot and half of them are trannies, it's easy to see what they're trying to accomplish.

the best part of being a /3/fag is that not even the jannies know the board exists so I hope it will get overlooked with this retarded anti spam measure. that said there's pretty much nothing I would want to post that's worth waiting 15 mins for. wish there was a good alternative. my favorite altchan back in the day was 7chan but that place is super dead these days.

also what is this even gonna do? you don't end spam, you just delay it by 15 minutes.

New 4cuck tranitor bypass method: Encode all of your posts as a .obj file.

I vehemently disagree. They seem to get automatically botted/raided these days.
My personal take on this would be to host it exclusively on Tor or i2p or something. Somewhere where the law only vaguely matters.
You'd still ban pedos and spammers but it would be much harder for raiders to post csam and then report it to law enforcement. I think it would be a bigger priority than actual csam sites though (because a lot of those are glownigger operated)
This has a different problem though. Nobody has a static ip and everyone keeps rotating them between eachother.
Accounts would be thus necessary ...and it wouldn't really be a *chan anymore.
A "chan" with accounts but with anonymous posts would be a great middle-ground. Usernames would only be visible to moderators. Even better idea would be if registering an account required paying, let's say, $10 equivalent in XMR, that would not be a big obstacle for legitimate users but would prevent 99% of spammers and pajeets from shitting up the place.

Something like this is inevitable for most social websites in the LLM age of the Internet. Funny that it reverts back to SomethingAwful tenbux in the end.
My personal experience is that whenever there's a part of the Internet that is cordoned off by money, the quality of people you meet is always way higher. For example, I was a kickstarter backer for an expensive piece of hobby equipment, and they had a backer discord. Almost everyone in there was smart and interesting. Mainly because you had to pay hundreds of dollars to get in, so it automatically filtered all the thirdies and browns.

The problem with tenbux forums is they inevitably collapse into insane nanny hypermoderation. Humans are just really fucking awful at moderating internet forums. They cannot help themselves but to force their own sensibilities and point of view. Everyone becomes an insane hairtrigger retard when given the slightest morsel of power. In the traditional Internet this has always been counterbalanced by the ease of evasion. In tenbux environments it becomes endemic to the culture, the users become ballwashers for authority figures (don't ban me massa! I be good nigga poster for you!) and there's a feedback loop. Sooner or later you're SomethingAwful or ResetEra. Or Kiwifarms, which, whether anyone wants to admit it or not, is also janny heaven.

All anyone has to do to thwart this completely is have another browser (or multiple browsers) with another IP already spun up so when you get banned, just move to the next. The really dedicated schizos and bot farms in jeet boiler room farms will just do shit like spin up multiple VPS instances with OpenVPN that aren't in their list, or use shit like luminaty (which I believe is what Goldson used).
What's so bad about it? It takes far less time manually filling out than the old Google captchas even when they were at lenient settings.
Just gives me a headache to look at. I was down to a couple seconds on those Google things other than when they were unusually laggy.

Industrially speaking, you could use Puppeteer to pre-warmup thousands of proxies and their accompanying cookies. The people who run spambots on 4chan will have already done this long ago. In fact, I doubt the pro spammers are affected by the latest changes at all.

4chan circa 2024 is bad
Like really really bad
Even the boards that were insulated from the bad by the obscurity of their subject matter, such as /po/, are over come by shitposting. People make threads on /po/ about political matters just so they can pretend they meant to type /pol/ and use that as justification to post interracial porn. There is no board on that site which is safe to discus anything.

I think there would be a great opportunity for someone like Null who has the skill to apply what he has learned to keep this site up, to host an imageboard. I know he used to be the admin of 8Chan. KiwiChan has a good ring to it.
He tried that in 2020 (it was called 9chan), and it got flooded with literal Nazis, alt-righters, mentally ill spammers, and pedophiles. Null got really burned on imageboards after 9chan, so that's not going to happen. If you want a good imageboard, soysphere sites are your last hope.
I think the theory of the site being ruined for a potential sellout might have some legs.
Manifesting a Kuz buyout right now
