I guess the board has a reputation of being a "nothing" board that you visit once or twice and leave immediately because the catalog is so dull. Underneath that mediocrity lies something very sinister, and I wanna share some things I've picked up over the years.
/bant/ is where outcasts go to powerlevel and congratulate each other. Because of this, the board is LITTERED with lolcows.

The reason he gets caught so easily is because his posting style is very... particular:

using "shit for brains" or some other very out-of-place insult for someone's stupidity
replying to the same post multiple times
telling people to kill themselves over a minor disagreement
saying stuff like "you're not a real man", "you're a failed male", "you're low test" etc.
telling people to do their homework, go to school, get a job, lose weight, take a shower, go to sleep, etc. (these are all projections)
obsession over /qa/ and soyjack party (keywords to look for are "locked" and "inferior")

You'd have great discussions with some rando on the internet you'll never meet who just happened to have also stumbled on some mexican Max Payne clone called Matador in his childhood and enjoyed it. You'd get all sorts of genuinely good recommendations, books, movies, shows, games. There was always an air of elitism but quite frankly there's an entire internet for which you can go and discuss Assassins Creed Whatever or the most recent Adam Sandler movie.
You were all anonymous but the sense of community was superb. It's like when you meet some guy fresh out of or into college and you immediately hit it off so well, bystanders think you've been best friends since kindergarten.
