>It doesn't need to be updated regularly
*SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP*

Does ANYONE Hiroyuki has contact with actually know how 4chan actually works right now, enough to completely reformat a server and get this running?
If they're too stupid to run "freebsd-update fetch install", I have my doubts on the anyone on the team's ability to dd the server and start from scratch.
If anything this should be a reminder to make regular backups, especially if you're this incompetent

this might very well go down in history as the day 4chan died, I fully expect SlopTubers like Mutahar to make videos on this
Him Critical and all the other react fags will have some video out tomorrow called "the 4chan situation" where they read the farms but don't acknowledge it. Hi mutahar you are a disgusting pajeet street shitter

it'll probably take them a very long time to get the site back up. I feel like they don't really have a responsible server administrator, and whoever is fixing this is basically going to need to:
1. Reformat the entire device.
2. Reinstall 4chan.
3. Restore 4chan's database to the last save state, if available.

But who is the person responsible for this? Does anyone know how to do this? They're running it on FreeBSD, last updated in 2019. Does ANYONE Hiroyuki has contact with actually know how 4chan actually works right now, enough to completely reformat a server and get this running?
they do have a dev team but i think that team exclusively works with their fork of yotsuba and not at all on the actual box.

realistically there are three people who will likely have the means to restore 4chan - RA, hiroyuki, and maybe moot assuming that hiroyuki has been as slack on maintaining the box as we suspect.

I know for a fact that their disaster recovery procedures are lackluster. You can't tell from the /j/ dumps but the actual live /j/ instance has a lot of missing images due to a catastrophic caching failure nearly a decade back and they just never bothered fixing it. They fixed it moving forward for new images but old images were forever lost.
