You know what I missed the most about old 4chan? Greentext stories. I know, they've been run into the ground by redditors and other slop Youtubers farming content, but back then that shit was fresh. You'd always find something new. Nothing will be more legendary to me than the story of Neal the tard and his Tardwrangler. It was always good for a laugh.
Granted, when did Reddit not ruin something they touched?

To quote an anon from the 4chan happenings general
>the best thing about gookmoot is that he doesn't change the site, the worst thing about gookmoot is that he doesn't change the site.

4chan has been in a weird stasis for a decade now, good in the sense that it keeps the same structure of the site intact but because of this it is unable to adapt properly to new issues and keep the culture alive. Nothing lasts forever but if you leave it alone it's just going to deteriorate over time. The cold approach from the mods/admins and general lack of interactions with them has definitely added to the problem.

I remember visiting the site forever ago but between the timer, a certain special sort of stupid captcha with a slider, and the fact that it'd just not post for whatever reason, the whole site might as well have been read-only.
4chan has been dead for a long time. Ever since 8chan drew attention to it with the ChristChurch shooting bodycam, it's been nothing but a honeypot and botfarm.
