4chan now is almost the same as reddit where the jannies on every board act like the board they're moderating is their own little kingdom and will allow derailing rule breaking bullshit if it's something they agree with and ban people for saying something they don't like but is within the rules because Hoshiromoot doesn't give a fuck and the jannies just do whatever they want and will actively block complaints from getting to him.

Moot recruited jannies from reddit. They'd been treating the site like it was reddit for like a decade at the minimum.

It became more obvious how contaminated the site was as people started using other sites like twitter where they could let loose in a way that wasn't possible on 4chan.
