Speaking of /pw/. I don’t get why 4chan got rid of the alternative sports board. Than again I find it we weird 4chan had a /mlp/ and /lgbt/ board yet no /furry/. I don’t like furries but they would’ve brought the site traffic.
IIRC the non-wrestling posters on /asp/ complained that the board was 95% wrestling and wanted their own board. Then the board they got became the slowest board on the entire website and half the threads still up are from years ago because no one actually wanted to talk about that shit. Wrestling drew the dimes and /xs/ thought they could be their own fed but they crashed and burned, basically.

/vr/ had some of the most overzealous moderation I experienced on 4chan and that's saying a lot. I think my breaking point was when romhacking.net basically shut down mostly this fucking tranny mod kept banning everyone who talked about it a way he didn't ended up he didn't like, got a blanket ban. I had already wrote the board off earlier when the rules changed but that was the last straw. Shame.
I got banned on there one time for making an OG Xbox thread... like a month before they started allowing 6th gen console discussion. You really had to watch what you said on there too, one little mistake and they'd rip you to shreds. Maybe I'm a wuss though.

It already existed de facto. What do you think /trash/ was?
It became the unofficial furry board. It started as a fetish board for shit too weird for /d/
Nobody kisses the ATF's ass on /k/
/pol/ is just mad that they have tried and failed to colonize/subvert the board for years. Ukie shills are allowed to stay cause they blend in and behave themselves. /pol/tards on the other hand spam low effort bad faith arguments loaded with BBC and soyjaks then have the nerve to complain that they get pruned.
Nigga you can’t talk about the FN FAL without redditors crying about dog whistling. Anyone who said /k/ mods don’t kiss ATF ass. Never posted on /k/ in the last 5 years.

They're just here for the shit show. Historically we get a handful of people who stick around and maybe a bunch of lurkers.

I'm tempted to create a directory of threads and boards on the site that correspond to 4chan boards, but I feel like anyone worth courting can figure that out on their own.

We do have a really active video game board and a new board for VTubers. I like the self-sufficiency board and wish the business board was faster. There's wrestling shit in Hulkamania board, which is a general fitness / sports / sports entertainment board.
/v/ & /vg/ = Video game board
/a/ & /tv/ & /co/ = Multimedia board
/vt/ = Vtuber board
/biz/ = business board
/g/ = Internet and technology board
/ic/ & /lit/ = Art board
/diy/ & /k/ & /out/ = self sufficiency board
/qa/ = Q&A board
/pol/ & /news/ = thunderdome

Lots of others too

Both /mlp/ and /lgbt/ are containment boards. They're there to keep undesirables from shitting up the rest of the site.

It's been hours since 4chan was hacked and down and none of the staff have made any public announcement regarding it. Do they really no longer give a shit about the site anymore or not wanting to give the shartyfags attention?
Did they historically ever made announcements off-site? The Twitter account they were occasionally using is more dead than dead and I'd be surprised if they even have the password for it. Aside from that I don't really see any way for them to share news with the people that frequent 4chan.

Might also be unwise to hand out information over the scale of the hack and the lost data before clearing this with the authorities. When large websites have data breaches they open up to a lot of legal liabilities especially in how it was stored and protected. They should convey with their lawyer first and foremost and assess the damage and try to figure out how exactly the breach happened. I'm not sure how this is handled in America but considering that payment and customer information on the 4chan passes were stolen they should contact them at least in 24h or less?

Out of all the jannies he's the one who I hope eats the fattest L from all these hacks, fuck that nigger in particular for being such an insufferable fanboy for Nintendo and deleting all the Snoot threads. Doesnt surprise me at all he's an actual pedo if that downloads thing people posted was legitimate.
I should've known better, even before I baked myself I noticed that my negative comments were being mega (You)'d by several "organic" posters. Hell it might as well be the same fucking shill retard spamming the "STILL BUYING SWITCH 2" imgs just doing damage control every single thread.
Fuck them, if a vidya board isn't allowed to shit on corporate greed, you've already lost the plot.

A persistent DDoS attack can take down a web server for weeks. These attackers have root privileges through ssh, and source code. FUCKING RUINED.
Some Russian kid was DDOSing Arma reforger the other month and it was down for weeks.
/k/'s actual problem was the endless Ukraine war posting and the r/noncredibledefense refugees.
/k/ died when they banned gun control discussion

I cannot fathom the site managing to retain staff after this, volunteer internet moderation is already embarrassing on its own but being direct targets of doxxing makes it not worth the power trip. Or am I overestimating them?
Rate me :optimistic: but that part of me wants to think that if 4chan does rise from the ashes the new jannies that bother to become jannies may learn from this and actually just do what people want them to do like keeping child porn off boards and banning annoying schizos instead of pissing everyone off who is just trying to use the site normally.

They get off on anonymous power, now that they are in danger of not being anonymous, there's little doubt that many will walk. That being said, I'm sure there will be some that feel emboldened by their newfound celebrity for one reason or another.

way overestimating
some will leave and vultures will come in to try and get some power for themselves
