I think it's interesting that despite all of the rapefugees here (myself included), nobody seems to be upset by this. Anything they miss are things the site hasn't had for a decade. Even 4chans own user base doesn't have the vigor to argue for its existence anymore. I'll miss its utility as a truly anonymous board with traffic, but that's about it.

A large reason for the decline in quality on the site is his lack of oversight. RapeApe is the head janny and he's basically who runs the site now. Jannies have absolutely no oversight and just treat their home boards like their own private circlejerk. But I doubt it would be much better if Hiro were more involved, he doesn't understand the site culture and made no effort to learn about it, he just started harvesting user data and hiked up the price of the pass so he can go be a minor celebrity in Japan.
