New account don't crucify me! I've lurked for a while, been stewing on this one for a long time, but now is the perfect opportunity to share it with all that's come to light:

I've had a theory for a while about crowdsourced propaganda. It's well understood that 4chan sits at the top of the internet food chain, and memes, narratives, ideas drip down from there to everywhere else. 4chan is able to get away with doing and saying horrendous things, while a site like Kiwifarms gets their service pulled.

Why? I think it is essentially crowdsourcing propaganda.

The way that 4chan operates, as I'm sure you all know, is that people aggregate ideas, iterate on them, and make them more and more spreadable. With the advent of /pol/, suddenly that all became highly politically charged. Basically, by fostering a community of people who say and do the most extreme and eye-catching things, anonymously, they can create untraceable propaganda that adapts on the fly to current events, and only gets more and more eye-catching and extreme.

So they let them do what they do, and then prune, vet, and delete things they don't like, or that go against the message they're trying to push. Due to its anonymous nature, 4chan operates as a sort of post-truth social network, there's no REAL fact-checking or proof, you just have to make something that gets people's attention, and it'll get spread down the pipeline to Reddit, Xitter, all kinds of messageboards, Discords.

This all sounds conspiratorial, but when you take into account that 4chan is apparently being ran and moderated by actual feds and college educated elites, suddenly it doesn't seem so crazy...

Now realize that they are literally getting people to PAY to do this. And the volume of people trying to use 4chan was getting so high as to be un-moderateable, hence the sudden need for email verification, and 900 second waiting period. If they didn't have a purpose, they wouldn't care, they'd just let people spam the board into being unusable.

I think that entire website is used to generate messaging without it appearing fed-baked, after all, why hire an out of touch propagandist to make propaganda that will be outdated in a day, when you have a legion of insane people foaming at the mouth trying to spread their ideas as quickly as possible. Just control the messages that propagate, and you can control a massive engine of internet culture.

anyway THIIIIIIIIINK ABOOOOOOOOOOOUT IT!

i think it would be funny though if the site just never came back into a usable state. this was the sudden and final death of one of the most successful sites in internet history. something awful and reddit get to decay into a pile of rotten mush but 4chan gets the concrete end.
It is fitting. It didn't fade away into the good night but was hacked. The fact that it happened now instead of back in 2017 is another fun bit. Imagine Kiwifarms and 4chan down and Hilary elected. A truly dark timeline

Apparently all /vg/ generals are like that now. I went archivediving a few times and noticed complaints like that across the entire board, no matter the general. It's a shame.
I lurked on /vg/ for years just to witness this autistic behavior, this is nowhere near the surface of the pure Schizophrenia that those generals create.

Danganronpa General - /drg/
Multiple suicides (last I checked, 4), discord fagging with tripcodes being their discord names, huge cult of personality embedded within the discord and generals, cutters and unstable women aplenty.

Fortnite general - /fng/
A non-stop proxy war between a user who posts as others and his “enemies”, this user is a confirmed troon and attempts to pretend to be other posters in order to stir up drama on purpose, their main method of this is calling out random people and claiming they are this user. Wandafag is the main bad actor but /fng/ has had MANY of these scitzos over the years, a widely believed theory is that this person has always been wandafag with hundreds of alts and discord accounts which they use to constantly start infighting. The /fng/ “furcord” is another group of these individuals, with them having infiltrated the other larger group, as well as Wandafag being within this discord server and playing both sides to effectively mess with everyone. One of the worst generals on /vg/

Genshin impact general - /gig/
Thosands of troons, lesbians and people who don’t play the game. There’s a discord group of cuckposters who target a new character every so often, with no goal other than the character being associated with cuckholding getting a bad reputation via these attacks. Discord servers associated with /gig/ are full of old guard posters who have been attempting to make things even worse, bbc spam and other such postings being the main counter attack methods.

/vg/ needs to have a case study on it, this the absolute surface of the shit that goes down in these generals, I only started using /vg/ after realizing the lengths these users will go to fuck with the other side, I’ve never played any of the games listed above as the real entertainment is the infighting and autism created by people having a place to talk about said video game.

These are only the generals I browsed but I only imagine the pure autism elsewhere with in /vg/.

Something funny about the 4chan YouTube channel is that to this day comments are disabled because moot thought that the YouTube comment section was even worse than 4chan.
Ironically, Youtube comments have risen massively in quality since then, especially compared to nearly every other site on the internet.

It completely depends on the channel you're on of course, but on the good ones you tend to have comments that far surpass anything Reddit or 4chan could muster these days.

You know what the best thing about this whole shitshow is?
It's not the Sharty who are responsible for this, it's 4chan.

/qa/ was made solely to be used for a single Q&A for Moot and Gookmoot and yet instead of just freezing the board when it wasn't in use or even just deleting it, they literally just left it sitting around with minimal moderation and let any retard who found it do whatever they wanted. That video of the kid proposing to his girlfriend with a printed soyjak wouldn't exist if the mods just did some basic moderation instead of ERPing in Discord all day while a bunch of children form a cult around mspaint edits of fucking wojaks.

And this went on for like two fucking years until they decided to finally step in, AND it was only after /qa/ raided the literal gay tranny board (/qa/ had raided several boards before this and /lgbt/ being the last straw is quite telling, to put it mildly.) Of course, by then it was way too late since at that point the teens had a proper altchan for a while, so they just moved off and kept on doing their business and now here we are today, where 4chan, one of the most influential websites on the internet, is at a high risk of getting completely fucked beyond repair, all because their absolute joke of a moderation team couldn't put in the barest amount of effort into their jobs.

So, while these jannies are panicking over their porn torrents being shared while the site burns down, I hope they realize that the Sharty didn't kill 4chan.
They did.
THIS IS IS THE BEST EXPLANATION OF A CORONERS REPORT I HAVE SEEN YET; SCREENCAPED FOR POSTERITY.
