Saw that happening a lot. It's not rare to see small imageboards with little to no rules being ruined by tripfags, camwhores and shills. Sometimes a niche IB gets fed up with janny tyranny and it splints into a freer website with almost no rules, only to be ruined by the cancerous userbase that knows they won't be banned by their behaviour.
Sometimes a guy just needs to spam the word "NIGGER" for the post limit over and over and over again for like 2 hours ya know? What can you do?

While we're at it, did any of you also notice a sudden increase in "aggression" on 4chan during the past year? What I mean is that if you tried to effortpost on, say, a hobby board (like /g/ or /o/) there would always be 1 or 2 people who would enter the thread and act all pissed off, saying everyone's retarded and acting like you had killed their newborn child or something. Everyone always seemed irritable/on edge compared to even just a few years back.

It wasn't just typical "lol kys fag" shit, it almost felt weirdly personal. Artificial also to an extent. Forgive me if I sound schizo, I don't know how to put the feeling into words. Maybe I'm just retarded
100%, threads constantly devolved into shit-flinging over the most incomprehensible grievances. I refused to engage with retards trying to bait me into arguing with them for an hour about something like whether my post longer than a few sentences qualified as a "blog post", only to come back to the thread hours later and see the same retard still arguing with anons he thinks are me and calling everyone a samefag. All over a completely innocuous, normal post.

I think a lot of it is due to the fact that 4chan attracts both high IQ original thinkers (me) and fully retarded failures (You) who either get no or purely negative engagement anywhere else, which creates enormous tensions and a gap that can never be bridged by any argument. The subhumans in the latter camp are the type to spend their entire evening insisting you used a word wrong when you didn't, arguing with all comers, and eventually pretending to be trolling. This belligerence and shit-flinging over every little thing is due to the insecurity of being an illiterate, literal retard, and probably a subconscious desire to bring more evolved posters down to their monkey level.

I would guess it got worse in recent years as 4chan exploded in popularity, increasing the numbers of both camps and therefore the tensions between them. It got the point in these latter days that I would make, again, what seemed to me to be a completely innocuous post, and get a randomly heated response like "You're not as smart as you think you are," or "Nice thesaurus."

Just retards lashing out.

I hope they are able to bring it back, is such an emblematic part of the "old web" Also because if it closes down they may actually come here, gross.
It's been a zombie site since GG at least. I still use /o/ and a few other niche boards/generals but even those had soaked up shit from elsewhere. Better if it dies. It hasn't been the hot site for memes for more than a decade, there are better anonymous sites to post on (IYKYK), and most work safe hobbies are better served by a fucking reddit page.

If they try to mass immigrate here Null can just shut down account creation if he hasn't already. I can't really speak on preserving KFs culture since I'm an eternal lurker.

>be imageboard
>see cartoon image macros you don't like
>should I filter and ignore?
>nah just bitch and complain every time you see them
>derail every thread so everyone knows your life is impacted by internet pictures
>eventually memes get exiled to satiate your whining
>the anons who posted those memes form a cult along with their own imageboard
>they hack your website and steal it from you outright
>no matter what happens next you will always be mocked for getting swindled by soyjak posters

Never forget, THESE are the type of people responsible for 4cuckolds getting their clitties leaked, hACK!ed, and raped.

Fuck, thinking about it he's doing better than most of /g/

are there any other refugee anons here who would normally lurk on 4chan because they felt like it effort-posting was no longer worth it most of the time?
i feel way more inclined to put in effort on here. i think the regulars here may be surprised how common that might be.
yeah I was more or less lurking out of habit at this point, I had probably not engaged in any meaningful way with the website in like 8 years, probably around HWNDU
had some good memories 06-14 or so, made a handful of legitimate friends even
the usual reasons I'd visit just disappeared eventually. /a/ use to be good for weekly manga spoilers/discussions, those went to shit. All the worthwhile hobby boards slowed down to a grind and were rarely worth checking daily
/gif/ use to be good for quick wank material, but I stopped going when I checked it out one day and the top 5 threads were BBC schizo posting and one special thread devoted to 'gay rape gifs'

It's remarkable how many new users from 4chan forget the very basic etiquette of lurk until you have an understanding of the culture and etiquette of the place you're trying to join in.
I think right now most expect that 4chan will be back, so they’re not taking being here seriously. Plus it’s very much free to make an account here, so as the days go by if the website genuinely isn’t back then people will probably just make new accounts and actually act relatively normal on that account. Right now you’re seeing people who don’t know if/how long it’s dead yet so they don’t care.

I wonder how all the "I wish I could leave, but I just can't" people are feeling right now.

This was/is /pw/, pretty much. Unfunny console warring memes/wannabe dunking and claiming that other people are [boogeyman] ad nauseum.
