I've been on 4chan since 05. Been a janny. Seen it all. Iil can tell you, that bar a small, loud community of freaks, 4chan is generally anti tranny, anti pedo , anti zoophile, etc.

Believe me, as a 20 year vet of 4chan I know.

Just stick to hobby boards if you wanna be safe howeverbeit, I get it's a rowdy place. Though just like the farms, it has its own public perseption and misconceptions.

The level of (un)ironic trap worship has been worrying since day 1 though, however, anime site.
You deserve a free 6 pack of beer for the rest of your life I didn't know things were this bad

4chan was the only reason I browsed the internet outside of checking emails. Was first introduced to it by a friend in college in 2010 after being told how funny the racism was and how much gore there was on /b/. After lurking on /b/ for a good while, I left once the bananaposting became too much to bear, and mostly lurked /pol/ and /v/. The 2016 election, HWNDU, and the Gamestop/AMC shorting were generally fun periods. Feels oddly liberating and sad at the same time seeing it down for this long. I guess nothing ever stays the same in life, everything (billions) must die at some point. Figure I'll spend more time with the people that actually matter in my life and touch grass more. I'll always hold these memories fondly.

Goodbye 4chan, I guess I really wasn't there forever after all.

They cannot, they have to do extensive patching on the source code of the forum software itself, get the OS to a current version along with the PHP version, and somehow maintain compatibility with the software.
For the record I'm all for this no matter how bad things are they can always get worse and I suspect it will be even funnier the second time

FitMC genuinely made 2b2t sound exciting
>Man I can't wait to be namedropped by my favourite minecraft youtuber on the oldest tranarchy server in Minecraft and be known as that heckin based aryan who [REDACTED]
Fit was a real retard for that. "hmmyes let's take this hellish anarchy server where literally anything can and does happen and where they absolutely fucking hate ecelebs and make an entire channel based on that haha"

any janny who willingly sticks around to moderate the boards and threads after this are a new level of brainbroken cuck. i wouldn't be surprised if half the jannies got scared off by being megadoxxed into oblivion, not to mention the shitposting that'll come depending on what boards and generals that have their own notorious jannies.

Because the code base was held together by duck tape and wishes if they bring up an identical copy it will probably go down just as fast.
Not to mention that a bunch of the admin staff are probably busy shitting bricks and microwaving hard drives.

The entire OS (FreeBSD 10.1) went EOL in 2016, so not just old php to worry about. There were probably 6 gorillion exploits waiting to be abused.
I've written software in about two dozen languages (god I'm old), but I will maintain to my dying breath PHP is the worst programming language in terms of security and so-called "safety." The faggots pushing the "muh memory safety" meme with Rust really would have done the world a greater service if they'd targeted PHP with it instead of distracting the C/C++ greybeards with that nonsense (I swear to god they've made modern C/C++ conferences utterly useless with endless paranoid banter about safety).

PHP started life with global variable registration enabled by default. It is literally Swiss cheese with a door. You're literally safer trying to write an imageboard in brainfuck than in PHP.

Pretty sure there will be a lot of open janny slots after this. If I was a 4fag jannie I would be burning everything and trying to distance myself from it as much as possible so I could at least keep my job.

Besides each join in starting out as a 2-hour-long waiting game, is it really that boring? Even with cheats/hacks?
It’s fun to try to escape spawn, and see the hellscape. But it’s not worth 2 hours
