on 4chan. it was familiar and comfortable. there was no reason for me to seek out another community. I will gladly admit to being ignorant of the going-ons of this site and other chans. now that 4chan is down I'm paying the price for not having sought out alternatives sooner. you sound like it's somehow my fault for kiwifarms hardship. I have never bought anything from a 4chan ad nor done anything to monetarily support the site.

I discovered Josh, and by extension this site, via the MATI podcast.
It got it randomly recommended to me on YouTube on like the 3rd or 4th episode eer-ver, before the entire thing was censored.

I have listened to basically every episode since, and had bought the SARS-CoV-2 merch, though I was always too much of a pussy to make an account.
I really don't like social media or forums in general but now with no other options, I'm happy to be here.

If you read this Josh, I love you bro. Your hard work and resilience are truly admirable, and you made my nights studying for college much better.

You're not meant to have an alternative right off the bat, you're meant to migrate to some other place that shares the same structural essence as old4ch (imageboard format, anonymity, not a single theme, non-intrustive moderation). There will never be an alternative that offers you the same volume and intensity as 4chan until enough people pour in their attention and creativity in their day to day engagement.

Seriously think about how 4ch used to be the OUTPUT entity of e-culture (injokes, lingo, references, memes) and how much of a "recipient of outside trash" it has become in the past few years. It no longer "produces". It consumes and reflects. It's dead jimbo.

We lived in the same area and hit it off. Didn't work out, dude had a massive foot fetish (amongst others) and was overall a pretty sad loser. if your account is flagged as being a shitposter they will ban your account automatically and refuse to answer appeals
there are two possible outcomes for a spicy (i.e. 100% legal in the United States of America) post. Either the post is hidden immediately and you are banned from the site until you delete it, or the post is "restricted" and is not shown to anyone but mutuals

Are you really all third worlder shitposters who can't use anything other than a 10 year old android phone or something? After that shit was implemented not only have I never had to experience it without even auth'ing an e-mail, my captcha's even got easier! I no longer get the dumb ass scrolling variant and every captcha, if I even get one, is only 4 characters.
This shit was a strict improvement to the site.
The real way to improve 4chinz is for any non-/b/ board to blacklist any and all non-US or JP IP's(JP only being included because hiroshimoot) and for the site to make every egregious attempt it can at plainly not working on a mobile device through viewport/browser fingerprinting and banning IP's from cell networks.

At the risk of exposing myself for being a third world phoneposter room temp IQ retard or what have you, 4ch was unbearable to post on if you aren't a pretty frequent guest and I vividly remember this shift occurring after 2017-ish. Captchas were always finicky for me even on PC, and at times I'd forfeit posting entirely for weeks on end because it was so fucking annoying. I am aware that this may be an entirely isolated personal issue and that perhaps I've been repeatedly entering captcha completely wrong for some time now and need to schedule an MRI scan
Anyway if I must be the brave little minority to sneed out about this I will: there is little reason phoneposters should still be treated like the digital niggers of the world in this day and age. I'd argue most people don't really browse 4ch on their PCs most of the time anymore like they used to but I could be totally wrong.
Since inherent anonymity is the sites whole deal already, I can see why giving VPN posters a harder time can be a net-positive in discouraging bad actors but A) being overly militant about encrypting DNS is unnecessary at best and B) ISPs are another beast entirely, so I don't blame anyone who would feel uncomfortable interacting on the site without a VPN. This somewhat concerns phoneposters too, as they have unlimited access to a built-in diet VPN designed to evade ISP monitoring and typically prefer to use it rather than not when navigating the site.

Bottom line the way posting works on 4ch reads as deeply unfriendly to anyone who doesn't spend every waking hour of their lives exchanging tranny porn and interacting with low-effort bait. It reads as clique-y and we're getting old to be honest.
