I think the "stereotype" came from mainly Tokyo, and probably only Tokyo. Tourists visiting Tokyo (the capital) and going "Wowza! It's le heckin advanced!" While the rest of Japan still uses CRT TVs

Why would they prevent it? It's /b/. It has no guidelines or rules other than "don't post illegal shit," which when reported gets top priority on mod queue anyway.
There's also tinfoil that moderation of /b/ was left squarely in the hands of law enforcement and they'd be acting entirely independently, anyway.

4chan’s problem isn’t irrelevance; it’s moderation rot. If they gutted the current mod and Janny crew permanently banning the lot and replaced them with people who’d crack down on Bait/ the same copy pasta and image shit after a month/ blatant filter dodging threads/ Lee/ etc. the site’s quality would spike. Boards would feel alive again, not like a tired loop of the same memes and trolls.

Oh you won't find many who disagree; the site would improve immensely with total janny/jeet death with a replacement of staff larger than a handful of grooming buddies to actually moderate a website that gets millions of visitors.

I sincerely doubt there will be positive changes, however, because the "job" is very grating and attracts that "type" of person.

Someone claimed after the Chitwood incident that fusion centers monitor sites like 4chan and sent non-warrant information requests for LE. That is arguably worse than feds directly moderating the site honestly considering their loose interpretation of the law and the admins' willingness to give info without subpeona.

I think a good example of why 4chan jannies are so hated is when Billy Mitchell won his lawsuit several weeks ago. The rules of /v/ lay out that it is a board discussing video games and video game culture. Well, Billy Mitchell is clearly a major figure in video game culture, and this was a topic that a lot of people wanted to discuss. Jannies were patrolling the board deleting anything that looked like a Billy Mitchell thread, including OPs that were just about the Donkey Kong arcade game.

Now if the board was like 25% threads about Billy Mitchell and his lawsuit, then yes, of course you've got to clean some of those up, but just one thread about this topic that clearly a lot of people wanted to discuss isn't going to hurt anything. Especially considering how many threads are just dedicated to masturbating to fanart of video game characters, which there are other boards for.

The /ck/ jannies started banning Ja/ck/ threads a few months ago. Now, the big guy himself has a message for them:

1. Is there any record of bans/warns/ban comments or just mod actions in general that you exported?
2. Awhile back there was a screenshot with names/dates redacted alleging it was from the 4chan janny Discord. Was that you, do you have access to it, can you dump/leak it if so?
3. Is there more data in general you're holding onto that you haven't released yet? If so, why? (I know you aren't releasing info on pass holders and your reasons for it, I meant other things.)

Yes, this keys into something important about janny hate. They don't follow the rules at all and leave porn, off topic garbage up constantly but will batphone when abib or some other faggot gets a bug up his ass about a topic he personally dislikes. Same deal with SCP games. They're hated for abusing their power and treating 4chan like their own little power trip.
