We have a massive grocery franchise in the States called Whole Foods where their gimmick is everything's produced by the company, and they have strict RFK Jr.-like standards for what's allowed in their store-brand products. If you go to Walmart or Walgreens and buy their store-brand products, they are exactly the sort of shit you describe. Meanwhile if you go to Whole Foods, their store-brand stuff is better than what's stocked anywhere else. I've even seen people go to Whole Foods for pizza just because it's cost-effective and it's not full of crap, like Dominos. If Europe was really interested in stocking American products and selling them, we don't have a shortage of hippie companies that use quality ingredients.
