on HN someone said they were exploring something similar with EXIF in images, I can't imagine this sharty user was the first person to actually succeed, or people were just extremely unaware of PDF parsing being an attack vector (I sure as hell was)

My quick peeks at the code make me think you could possibly exploit many of the places that they've made calls to exec or shell_exec. They pass user submitted data to other potentially vulnerable system softwares that do have some known vulns in older versions and may be weaponizable to get RCE but I'm not sure.

The ratio of real posts to porn became so low as to become truly intolerable around 2020 for me. I've decided to do other things to kill time than to peruse 4chan since then.

The board merger was the best April Fools thing ever devised and it's fucking stupid that the DO4E thing didn't just revisit that, with the slower boards being progressively merged into the faster ones to make some truly nightmarish combinations.

The best board merge was mlp and pol. It was called My Little Poltics or something lol.

I had the same issue with my images; fixed the issue by converting my images to WebP to lower their file sizes.

I miss the waning days of the original 8chan. Had a ton of fun making oc ralph content on the cow board.

Early 8chan felt like a return to a good 4chan. It was good times but the schizophrenic spammers that ruin 4chan started to take over boards and moderators were more interested in their ideals than the health of their website. GrapeApe can bring 4chan back but the user base hates posting there. Giving them a few days or weeks away from it will be enough to drop traffic. The post timer will drive off even more when they try to post and don't have the cookie. The imageboard style of website will hopefully be put to rest and 4chan will bow out the same way 8kun did when it returned.

Where is the post with the Jannie tracking? This thread is moving too fast and burying the interesting stuff. I can't find the post linking to the thread in the 500 posts in the last 2 days. I had to make an account instead of lurking to keep track.
