Technically this is a lolcow website for gossip about lolcows. Some of the best threads are the lolcow threads, but you have to have a special kind of autism to care as much about Internet retards as we do.
When I was a newfag I also found it a bit daunting to post. A&N, as you say, is essentially a circlejerk for /pol/fags. It can be fun but it's basically no different than /pol/ in terms of content, maybe less BBC spam. I recommend to find some on-topic lolcow threads you like, since lolcow content is the easiest to engage with on the forum. Community watch threads are especially easy to get into since you don't need to learn all the lore and background of a specific person.

I like to think of KF as a glorified tabloid (in an endearing way) that actually has sources back up what is being discussed, and a host of general boards to discuss non-'celebrity' topics, in a sort of similar fashion to what you'd get out of the boards you're used to. Kiwi is also, as was pointed out, one of the single most misunderstood sites on the entire internet.

For any 4channers stopping by, Give this a read if you want to see every claim you've ever heard about the Farms disproven with prejudice.

The way I've always understood it was you had to have a very long history of engaging in egregiously fucked up behavior to get a thread made about you on this forum. If you have your own thread here, you've earned it.

IMO the line gets a bit blurred because KF has i.e. "Internet Famous" which is just for discussing people who may not necessarily meet the definition of "lolcow" or have done anything that outrageous.

Good to know. Do you recall if there is any place on the site that documents KF lore? The "Keffals Kerfuffle" is the only thing I really know about the site because up until then it managed to keep a pretty low profile and I'd like to educate myself.

I agree, it's a completely different environment. It does suck to not have that instant dopamine anymore. Both my vidya generals got nuked and the replacements here are slow or yet to arrive. I've noticed I spend more time playing games instead of talking about them now though so that's nice.

I would also mention that the forum is much more of a cohesive community than 4chan. People know eachother, follow eachother, talk to eachother in DMs, etc. There are a fuck ton of in jokes, there's huge multi hundred page long DM chains with dozens of participants of people talking to eachother, boards like Q&A are shitposting spots for a clique of autists. If you get to know the community and become a part of it, it's rewarding and fun, but I imagine it makes it especially hard for newfags to get used to the site.

Basically every thread since 2013 is still on the website and you can read them. This thread is old but has some good info on the very early history of the site.

The one time I used 4chan for an extended period of time was when I had to dig through /pol/'s threads about the Buffalo shooting for info on the Entropy Discord server (which had allegedly been implicated in grooming the shooter) and it was genuinely one of the most miserable things I've ever forced myself to do. The threads were filled with nothing but schizos, bots, and a small handful of people actually trying to compile information that would consistently get led on wild goose chases by Discord freaks that kept showing up to fuck with them.

I have no idea how any of you can put up with the lack of an account creation barrier. I guess I can commend you on your stubborn persistence in continuing to use the site despite the scores of people constantly trying to disrupt discussion, but I'd also suggest just moving here full-time where that isn't an issue and you can just focus on posting, lol

There are many ways these posts may not be editable. Let's make a list of the ones I can think of off the top of my head:

• if Xenforo does not allow edits on a locked account
• if Xenforo does not allow edits on a banned user
• if Xenforo does not allow other users (irrespective of moderators) to edit the post
• if there is a read-only copy of the data in question
• if edits of the post are administratively prohibited (i.e. Josh verbally instructed the staff not to alter the post in question)
• if a claim was made in the past that the posts are editable in a more broad sense and Josh is clarifying that the posts are editable in a less broad sense

Even if this did constitute a lie under oath, which it does not, the lie was made in service of the greatest possible goal - the preservation of the freedom of your countrymen.
