As to meaning, who knows. Its tough to read code language if the message isn't meant for you.
I say mostly because even if people use it for schizo shit, its an actual cipher. It is possible (likely) jews (and maybe others) use it to pass each other notes.

Gematria for what it is has its origin as most of the """""""""jid stuff""""""" from other neighbouring countries(Empires).
They just renamed ancient Greek practice of γεωμετρία/geometria same with Kabbalah (Platonic though+secret schools of Egypt and Persia).
