I think you overestimate the level of bots and shills outside of the main popular boards. I seriously doubt 90% of the shitposting for instance in the starsector threads on /vst/ or the /mug/ threads on /sp/ was non-organic, there is no profit nor ideology to push in the majority of fun threads I hung out in. Something like /uhg/ or /chug/ on /pol/? Yeah there's a good reason I don't go into those plagued threads. The worst is /k/, that boards jannies and mods should be hung, drawn and quartered for raping what used to be a comfy board for discussing firearms.
On /x/ you would go into a thread and you were talking to 1-2 guys maybe. The bots would read your sentence and just generate some nonsensical arguments, never images added. It was like Jewish Pilpul Bot Beta.0.8

Most infuriating part about the altchans is how there isn't an equivalent of 4chanXT for them. It feels so fucking prehistoric.
I run a vichan based bunker for a particular community and have received complaints about browser extensions made for 4chan not working. I don't know how to help with that one, and it's pretty frustrating.

Honestly the RapeApe post still boggles my fucking mind.
"Jannies, I know the users don't say it. But I know they appreciate you." (Not the exact quote, but the gist.)
No one liked the jannies. (/lgbt/rannies don't count)
You think the /sp/ janitor copypasta was made out of love? Delusional as all hell.

Another thing I'd be curious about is how often the phrase "mods = gods" was posted by users in recent years, guarantee there's a sharp decline in it's use.

Think of him doing like one of those obi-wan kenobi "certain point of view" type speeches.

The jannies assume they're necessary to the operation of the website. And I'm sure they are for things like culling CSAM spam and shit.

But anyway, look at how many people in this thread are like "I miss 4chan" and shit like that. If we go on the assumption that the jannies think they're necessary to the operation of the site, and the whole userbase is in "I miss 4chan" mode, then from that obi-wan sorta point of view, "they appreciate you".

He for sure knows the truth. During orientation he stressed to NEVER tell anyone you're a janitor because everyone hates your guts. He's probably just trying to keep everyone from quitting and making even more of a mess of things.

We really should just migrate elsewhere. I miss 4chan, and then I think of the 900 sec timer and the ridiculous trannyjannies that would arbitrarily ban me for nothing. It’s like Twitter 1.0 in that regard. Fuck it, I hope it dies

It was basically an unofficial public statement, so realistically speaking what else was he going to say?

My general desire, and I think I said this on lain a few days ago when this all began, but:

I hope a couple of people who are capable sysadmins can setup exclusive sites for the hobby boards, effectively advertise them during this chaos, and suck up the 'fugees.

Many people say they mostly went to 4chan for the hobby boards. Shit like /ck/, /po/, /o/, /fit/, /vr/, or all of these other "small" boards. Any one of these could be serviced by a competent sysop for tens of bucks a month, and other than the fact that everyone's used to saying "nigger" and "faggot" all the time, without being tied to /pol/ (which could be absorbed by larger alt-chans like 8ch successors) they would lack the political controversy of 4chan and could allow the people there to exist in general peace.

This in my opinion would allow the imageboard community to successfully decentralise, with there being effectively many sites to service particular interests, and thus make the generally free and independent internet community a more dispersed and decentralised place.

Srsly, techfags, if you know how to stand up an imageboard and you love your old community well, build up an alt-chan just to service your bros. Do the needful for them and do the needful for the decentralisation of general internet services. You know what you doing.

fuck you, I hope it lives. there is never going to be another 4chan, how many more nations websites must we retreat from before we suddenly find there is nothing left because the globohomo establishment will not permit us our homeland shitposting boards.
Look at how difficult it is to keep this place alive thanks to dedicated teams of trannies and associated internet censorship enthusiasts attempting to kill it, just making new websites may not be feasible and all it does is allow easy divide and conquer of the internet in the name of people who love chopping their own dicks off. In many nations there are even laws being put in place that will prevent websites like this from existing, see the fucking britbongs and their speedrun to hyper-orwellian state enforced sharia homosexuality.

If things keep going the way they are, pretty soon nobody will believe anons even existed.
