Shout-out to @Owen Grady for helping me play detective on this one.

For those not in the know, the SCP Foundation was spawned from the creepypasta fandom through many posts on /x/, detailing a mysterious organization that documented and contained anomalous items and entities. Eventually, a website database of these documents was created, and regulations were put in place to prevent Mary Sues and edgy Jeff the Killer clones.

ironically the creation of the SCP website just made the fandom worse and led to the quality of SCPs massively drop. The entire autistic scarlet king storyline ruled the fandom for years and resulted in hundreds of copypasted garbage ocs that were just "omega death god #7868698" actually getting a spot on the site. SCPs like 682 and 173 got tunred into reddit-teir memes and then the trannys and faggots came in with their magical gender reassignment rock. The only good part of the fandom was the illistratiors and animators like lord bung (until he spent all the patreon money on weed and bussy).

I think as reciprocoal for taking down /qa/ hiring a bunch of actual discord troons, adding a 900 second wait time with email verifictation, and just becoming a slightly less gay reddit we deserve repurations.

I propose:
1.jannies get to be called by their usernames a la the leak.

I actually think the intense gatekeeping improved quality, at least for a little while. Unfortunately, they eventually ran into the quis custodiet ipsos custodes problem and troons took over. Troons were now the gatekeeper, when they should have been the gatekept.

Troons should never be allowed power of any kind.

/qa/ gets reopened and has no rules at all and is subject only to the general "no actually illegal shit" rule.

Also Lee Goldson gets to be superjanny on it.
 
Looks like an awful lot of the threads on the /gacha/ board on 8chan and I'm sure a shit ton of other generals on /vg/ are having a fairly large portion of their user bases stay on their respective altchan boards for the time being to the point where the 4chan threads have a slower PPH. I've noticed that weekends tend to be slower days on most generals on the site surprisingly, so we'll see if the pattern continues throughout the rest of the week. Doubling down on the moderation was really not the smart move if the mods didn't want to lose a bunch of users to other imageboards, but unfortunately the jannies are retarded.

IIRC there was a huge contributor to the fandom early on but he disagreed with the administration of the site so they had a back and forth for a while and the guy gave up and told them to remove all the SCPs he made. The details are vague to me because I haven't talked about scp in so long.

it's not surprising, because for one they only had to move their single thread somewhere and could go on as before, with the added perk not getting absolute shitwrecked anymore. /vg/ and the gatcha threads were one of the worst moderated and abused by mods, schizos and other retards (not surprising given their audience). they might have beat /vt/ in that regard, otherwise it's really close. think /vt/ also moved to 8chan, some made their own board over at holotower.

unless the eunuch jannies add thread IDs which is a single fucking change that nibs a lot of that shit in the bud (see that gura thread screencap that's making the rounds), I don't think it will be worth it for them, speed is less of an issue with circlejerking between patches and since it's supposed ontopic anyway they don't need the "randomness" or a whole board like /v/.
sound weebums and higher filesize also make waifuposting more enjoyable. the porn (which only needs to be spoilered for now) also keeps the normalfags at bay.

found it, the guy was fishmonger. Admins wanted the stories to be more serious and edgy as part of their autistic larp while he made more comedic stories that were well written and popular. Nowadays that kind of problem wouldn't exist because the entire site is owned by tranny faggots who don't do their job anymore.
