Why would anyone still use 4chan at all? The 200 second countdown is extremely annoying, imagine if Kiwi Farms forced you to wait 200 seconds to reply.

Honestly I'm shocked they did away with the 15 minutes, the number of times I'd pass the captcha, quickly type up some autistic screed, hit "post" only to be met with another 15 minutes (sometimes 2 or 3 times in a row) and end up screeching like a retard is too many

Most of the threads are probably made by bots tbh. Someone in this thread pointed out the moment the site came back up that it had a lot of dead threads being pumped out, but with no replies. It's as if the bots weren't working properly to auto-bump anything. I'm sure there are a horde of mentally ill people who do indeed take part in this as well, but I'm really wagering on 4chan leaning more on being a prime example of dead internet theory.

Thing is the mentally ill people may as well be bots, with how their outrage farming revolves around the same factory dispensed OP prompt threads, images and bait. And with IP counter gone, anybody can endlessly samefag until another bot or someone stupid enough can respond. Its an endless cycle of "crab-bucket" mental gymnastics between people who aren't real or are, but are too retarded to tell they're being played like a fiddle.

Honestly they don't care. The lemmings that went back crave the dopamine in replies even if its artificial. But even when looking at the 'i'm so happy to be back!' threads when the site came back up, you realized many of them weren't even aware of other *chans existing or openly expressed how they went to reddit/twitter/tumblr/instagram as an alternative.

I've seen activity increase in other places, but one thing to remember is most people already alternate between reddit, 4chan, social media, discord etc. Its how they coordinate raids or spam threads. The site lost people either way.

The site should've stayed dead. That's the only way forward. New *chan sites could've sprouted up if people weren't pleased with the prexisting sites and a great filtering would've occurred with this hard reset.

I thought about something creating a new one from scratch, but then you have to wonder how long would it take to fall prey to the same issues the main site did?

It's not just anime guys or discord. this screengrab describes how nearly every "community" I've peeked in on the last 5 years no matter where it is or what it's focused around has become like. It really is every community online. It feels like anywhere that isnt outright hostile to them will inevitably become completely overrun by them. They quickly drown out genuine users because of how terminally online they are. They have nothing better to do than shit up up online places

I've even seen it start happening in physical space too. I have found it virtually impossible to find any group doing some semi-niche activity such as tabletop gaming that doesnt have its fair share of troons stinking the place up. I'm not even somewhere there should be a lot of troons either but they all just flock to this stuff I guess.

Its definitely not just you noticing this kind of thing its happening everywhere.
